The new season premieres on Netflix in 2026!
I’m as surprised as anyone that Netflix series Bloodhounds is getting a second season. I didn’t expect as much considering the story arc of the first season provided enough closure, but to see another round of action and drama well on the way is a nice little pick-me-up to start the new year. Jason Kim of Officer Black Belt fame is returning to the show, back at the helm as writer and director for a cast once again led by Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi, along with the new addition of recording artist Jung Ji-hoon – a.k.a. Rain (Ninja Assassin). Studio N is producing the series along with Seven O Six, and Ghost Studio, based on Jeong Chan’s hit webtoon of the same name. Read last week’s announcement below for more, and feel free to revisit my review of the first season here. The production and cast of Bloodhounds Season […]
Bloodhounds is now streaming on Netflix The fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic saw plenty of reports emerge spotlighting criminals taking advantage of people during desperate times. A little research on my end made me realize just how real this was in South Korea – something to consider with Netflix series Bloodhounds, and the 2019 webtoon that the series is inspired by. The series is directed by Jason Kim (a.k.a. Kim Joo-hwan) whose treatment sets things in motion during late 2020. I can’t quite pinpoint where this fits in the webtoon since I’ve never consumed it, and so I can only gauge the series on its own merits. To start, however, I can earnestly state that the first episode delivers a fine, brisk introduction to both sides of the series. Kim Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) is one of the first characters we meet. He’s humble, virtuous and soft-spoken, and typically a good […]
Just when I thought my news day was done, here comes Midnight Runners and The Divine Fury helmer Kim Joo-hwan bringing my day to a high-note ending with one knock down after throwdown banger exhibited in the official series trailer for upcoming series, Bloodhounds. Bloodhounds is a story about two young people who step into the world of loan sharks in pursuit of money and get caught up in a web of much darker forces. After his perfect performance in a dual role in The King: Eternal Monarch, Woo Do-hwan returns as Geon-woo, who jumps into the world of loan sharks to pay off his debt. Having intrigued viewers with his multi-faceted charm in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Lee Sang-yi plays Woo-jin, who first meets Geon-woo as his opponent in boxing but ends up working with him. Meanwhile, actor Park Sung-woong plays vicious loan shark Myung-gil, who is driven solely by money […]
