DEADPOOL 2 Officially Moves Forward

Director Tim Miller’s hit movie, Deadpool, won in epic fashion last weekend at the MTV movie awards, taking away accolades for Best Comedy and Best Fight – this all following its prime box office victory in becoming the highest grossing R-rated superhero movie, ever. So, what else is in tow? Well, the sequel was already announced for active development back in February before then, but as with all things in film, these updates take time to become solid. Thus, what better time than this week, and on the last day of CinemaCon in Las Vegas? Yes, 20th Century Fox was on hand to make its case for several tentpole movies including Independence Day: Resurgence, Assassin’s Creed, and as many as four more sequels to James Cameron’s 2009 interplanetary spirtual sci-fi action epic, Avatar. Warren Beatty Teases Being Serious About DICK TRACY 2

Personally I’d always wondered why there was never a sequel to actor and director Warren Beatty’s 1990 adaptation, Dick Tracy. In the years since its inception in the 1930’s as a comic strip with various radio and television shows and films thereafter, the franchise was a favorite leading up to Beatty’s own efforts which prospered at the box office and earned numerous awards. However, the film wasn’t a hit in the eyes of its studio who felt they lost more than they gained, legal proceedings ensued between Beatty and Tribune Media Service – the latter who initially owned the film and TV rights to Dick Tracy. Fast forward to 2013 and Beatty, to date, is still the owner, and, for better or worse, still appears to have been dancing around the issue of sequel. WB's Tsujihara: "We're Working With Ben Affleck On A BATMAN Movie"

Apart from its current $800 worldwide gross, Zack Snyder’s ability to deliver with Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice, may still purport even more scruitiny in the coming years with Warner Bros. focusing solely on its tentpole films as the film fell short of their expectations. That said, Justice League: Part One commences filming this week with its release stamped for November 17, 2017, and already in the good graces of fans well approving of actor Ben Affleck’s performance as the new Batman/Bruce Wayne who is already close to a year in developing a script of his own with DC’s own Geoff Johns. That script picked up further steam last month when the presses reported that Affleck did, indeed write a script for a Batman treatment that would ultimately push things toward feature film development as Warner Bros was already reportedly touting a potential Batman trilogy in the not-too-distant future. Smrz's 24 HOURS TO LIVE Among A Slate Of Titles In A Deal With Barco Escape

It was on Monday when some of us first caught wind of entertainment company, Barco Escape, amid the promotion of Justin Lin’s Star Trek: Beyond; To start, I think it’s unfortunate that not all theaters can accomodate such theatrical technology, but the idea of expanding and augmenting screens for a more immersive moviegoing experience will otherwise prove delightful for anyone in the vicinity of these locations. More importantly now is the relevance it bears with all things happening this week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company is now putting out a new announcement that will accomodate a production deal between two company, thus, adding a slew of titles to rack up for the next several years for Barco’s movie arsenal. Incidentally, that slate now includes actor Ethan Hawke’s forthcoming appearance in the new action thriller, 24 Hours To Live, for which his attachment was announced back in February […]
