ACOLYTE: Ascot Elite, ‘John Wick’ Franchise Writer Team Up For New Action Thriller

If you ever get tired of hearing the name Derek Kolstad, it’s probably because you have no idea what’s coming first with all the projects he’s become attached to since earning acclaim as writer behind the John Wick franchise. Yes, it’s kind of petrifying. But screw that. Why? Because he’s got another on his plate called Acolyte on which he’ll be teaming up with a group in Switzerland to help bring the project to life, namely Swiss outfit Ascot Elite, filmmaker Claudio Fah (Northmen – A Viking Saga) and producer Christopher Milburn (Unhinged). When his wife is kidnapped, an ordinary man reveals his true colors and calls his old team together to rescue her. Director Claudio Fäh‘s action-packed period epic, Northmen: A Viking Saga is currently enduring a theatrical run through Europe, introducing a harrowing tale of survival about a group of maurauders who must survive their way through to a Viking settlement after getting shipwrecked off the coast of Scotland. The film itself has some mixed reviews although the trailers themselves divulge plenty their fair share of epic viking brutality and danger which ought to woo anyone who loves a good sword-swinger of a thriller. Director Claudio Fäh‘s upcoming period epic, Northmen: A Viking Saga is still on track for an October premiere in Germany, with its newest poster now making the rounds within the last twenty-four hours. More dates are still pending, but the newest international trailer has also gone viral, with all the trimmings of what looks to be a spectacular flick. Movie goers overseas will have something to look forward to this October when co-writer and director Claudio Fäh unveils his latest film contribution to German audiences with the new foreign-language period action thriller, Northmen: A Viking Saga. UK actor Tom Hopper, Aussie actor Ryan Kwanten, Irish actress Charlie Murphy and forthcoming star of the next Transporter trilogy, actor Ed Skrein lead the principal cast. The film is also going to be shopped at Cannes this month courtesy of The Salt Company, so fans can expect further distribution in the weeks ahead.
