Director Allan Ungar first impressed me with his 2014 mixed-martial arts revenge drama, Tapped Out. The film put actor and martial artist Cody Hackman on the radar for a lot of us action fans while the star continued to make strides in film under his Hackybox Pictures banner, and now we continue onward with Hackman next to actor Dominic Purcell in an albeit delightful pairing in Ungar’s newest, Gridlocked. Filmmaker Allan Ungar did a fantastic job with actor and martial artist Cody Hackman leading their previous MMA revenge drama, Tapped Out (or Tapped for those in other territories). Nowadays, Ungar is back with Hackman for their latest action thriller, Gridlocked, set to premiere this weekend at Fantastic Fest with Dominic Purcell leading, and THR has a new clip to introduce our protagonist in meaty action hero fashion. Dominic Purcell To Get GRIDLOCKED With Cody Hackman Next Week!

Director Allan Ungar is ready to get back to the set once more and reunite with actor, martial artist and producer Cody Hackman for the forthcoming production of the new action thriller, Gridlocked. The two initially started the year having released Ungar‘s directorial debut, Tapped (a.k.a. Tapped Out) which featured Hackman alongside co-stars Anderson Silva, Martin Kove and Michael Biehn. This time production will commense under Hackman‘s banner, Hackybox Pictures with filming set for July 7 in Ontario. Gridlocked is also co-written by Ungar, and joins Hackman and Purcell in a story of a detective chauffeuring an legally embattled movie star when the training facility is attacked. Purcell can currently be seen in his newest DVD release of writer and director Damian Lee’s boxing drama, A Fighting Man, now available wherever movies are sold. Mixed martial arts still plays an important role in the action genre, and director Allan Ungar‘s most recent feature-length directorial debut looks to capitalize on it later this year with the forthcoming U.S. release of his new dramatic MMA headliner, Tapped Out (formerly known as Tapped), featuring lead actor and Karate champion Cody Hackman. The film was picked up in November last year by Lionsgate Home Entertainment who have a new press release out with all the info you need, and a new trailer just beneath it.
