Long Awaited Superhero Flick, GARUDA SUPERHERO, Bows Domestically This Weekend!

Indonesia’s film industry doesn’t always garner the support of big budgets for its more ambitious titles, but the vision is applied nonetheless when possible. It can be a noteworthy achievement depending on how you look at it, and you can certainly add writer and director x.Jo‘s latest offering with Garuda Superhero to that same list. The film took roughly ten years to evolve from concept to production with a few conceptual reels having went viral earlier on. Granted, if you’ve seen those reels and CGI tends to be a touchy subject for you, then this particular venture may not be for you. Otherwise, comic book fans and followers of the superhero genre, and those who are generally sympathetic to the overall ambitious growth of Indonesia’s film industry can probably take a liking to it. Jackman Goes 'Raw' For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

As you might know, if you have been keeping up with the latest bits on X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Twentieth Century Fox is about to launch the X-Men X-Perience, a massive promotional campaign tour in select cities around the world to be hosted by a select handful of stars from the film. The campaign is being notably spearheaded by Hugh Jackman who reprises his role once again in this seventh installation of Marvel pseudo-immortal franchise character, Wolverine, whose off-screen demise may finally be met in the upcoming serial publication of “Death Of Wolverine” when it hits comic book store shelves this September. For now, the character will live on through film as per the forthcoming release of X-Men: Days Of Future Past in theaters on May 23, 2014. It’s been a year and a half since the theatrical release of director Pete Travis’s 2012 live-action thriller, Dredd 3D, made its way to critical acclaim and a level of fan-appreciation that only continued to amplify when the film’s subsequent commercial numbers dimmed the hopes of an immediate sequel from Lionsgate. Since then, with fan films, webseries projects and sequel comics trickling out public, and a petition that just hit the 100,000 mark in support of a sequel for the 2012 film, conversations are being had that we know little in detail, if anything, about what is particularly being said with Almost Human star, lead actor Karl Urban, screenwriter Alex Garland and the Lionsgate execs in the room. In a recent interview to promote this week’s release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, screenwriting pair Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick invoked a few words on preparation for the script about another comic book adaptation that has been waiting to hit the film set for a while now, Deadpool. Read the following exchange from ComingSoon.net: CS: Is there any update on “Deadpool”? I know a lot of people are very, very eager for that one. Reese: There isn’t.
