CONTROL: A Battle Of Wits And Telekinetic Will Ensues In The Official Trailer

I’m noticing director James Mark’s affinity for intriguing supernatural sci-fi and thrills when it comes to his projects. I thoroughly enjoy films like On The Ropes, his 2018 collab with Reel Deal Action’s Can Aydin, Yoon Cha-lee and Phong Giang, although there’s no denying his will to flex his directing muscle through a bit of variety along the way, having done so with action sci-fi Kill Order and its surprise sequel, Enhanced. This Fall, he’ll be diving deeper into the mystique with Control, which features a cast led by Sara Mitich, George Tchortov, and Evie Loiselle. With Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures currently developing Warcraft for the big screen with Blizzard Entertainment, the production has already begun casting with announcements already arriving as of a few weeks ago. This week, we have two more names to the list, one of which includes actor Daniel Wu, who recently appeared in director RZA’s Kung Fu Cult free-for-all action adventure, The Man With The Iron Fists and the sci-fi thriller, Europa Report. The film is based on Blizzard highly popular Guiness World Record-holding massive multiplayer online role-playing game, now going almost twenty years strong with up to 12 million subscribers to its player base. Just days away from the November 22, 2013 domestic release of director Kenneth Bi‘s intense new psychological action thriller, Control, netizens now get to go behind the scenes with four new featurettes courtesy of Filmsmash. The clips showcase a number of things, including some of what it took to create some of the stunning visuals to grant the film’s futuristic setting. No English subs here though, but it should make for a nice viewing for those interested. The film stars lead actor Daniel Wu whose latest venture with Dante Lam in the action crime thriller, That Demon Within, was just recently announced in an official press release for the U.S., Canada, Australian and New Zealand distribution by China Lion; Stay tuned for more info on that film in the days ahead. A final trailer and behind-the-scenes featurette are now available for actor Daniel Wu‘s upcoming futuristic thriller, Control. Based on an original screenplay by Jack Messitt written prior to his newfound partnership with Celestial Pictures, co-writer and director Kenneth Bi presents a story that pits Wu at the center of this Hitchcockian tale of technological espionage, suspense and hidden danger. Simon Yam, Yao Chen, Leon Dai, Ady An and Shao Bing. The film is slated for a domestic release in Hong Kong and China the week of November 22, 2013, followed by its Malaysia and Singapore release on December 12. While we continue waiting for clear word on actor Daniel Wu‘s appearance in Dante Lam’s That Demon Within, we now have a new poster for director Kenneth Bi‘s latest contribution to the techological advancement of Asian cinema in the form of upcoming futuristic psychological action thriller, Control, courtesy of the folks at City On Fire. Two new viral banners for the film are now available for viewing at the bottom of the page beneath the first official teaser from September as well. Actor Daniel Wu has long become a prolific actor and producer over the years, most recently crossing over into Hollywood territory for the RZA-directed hip-hop kung fu period fantasy hybrid, The Man With The Iron Fists. Wu also notably starred in director Sebastián Cordero’s intergalactic thriller, Europa Report, and appeared in the first of two steampunk kung fu action adventure films he also produced with director Stephen Fung for, Tai Chi Zero, and its sequel, Tai Chi Hero. 2013 has since been a busy year for Wu, who has recently wrapped up filming the third of a trilogy of surveillance thrillers from directors Felix Chong and Alan Mak, Overheard 3, in addition to a cameo role in Johnnie To’s romantic feature, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart 2 and Unbeatable director Dante Lam’s latest upcoming gritty crime thriller to hit the Cannes Marche Du Films back in May, That Demon Within.
