REVENGE: Don't Miss The Wild, Chilling Red-Band Trailer For The Upcoming Survival Thriller

For those in the know, it might have merely been a matter of time before festival goers would signal their approval with the warm reception of Coralie Fargeat’s directorial debut, Revenge. The pattern would repeat as so going into the new year and already with a keen and quick Shudder/AMC acquisition for eager fans apart from the U.S. where distributor Neon now lays its claim.

Debut director Coralie Fargeat announces her stunning arrival, painting a crimson canvas of hypnotic beauty and bloody retribution in this razor-sharp feminist subversion of the revenge-thriller.

Jen (fearlessly embodied by Matilda Lutz, Rings) is enjoying a romantic getaway with her wealthy boyfriend which is suddenly disrupted when his sleazy friends arrive for an unannounced hunting trip. Tension mounts in the house until the situation abruptly––and viciously––intensifies, culminating in a shocking act that leaves Jen left for dead. Unfortunately for her assailants, Jen survives and reemerges with a relentless, wrathful intent: revenge.

A white-knuckle tale of transgression and transformation, REVENGE gloriously blurs the lines of vengeance and survival while simultaneously delivering a ferocious dissection of gender and genre.

I’m almost upset that I watched the red band trailer if only for the fact that it brought more to the table than what I thought a trailer would. (This is me echoing sentiments from when I saw the official U.S. campaign for Mo’ Bros thriller, Headshot, prior to XYZ’s own Todd Brown assuring me that I needn’t worry. I dunno… force of habit I suppose, and I guess that speaks of how high I view the content; Sexy, powerful and pulsating from start to finish are how I describe this trailer and I invite you to sample the goods below ahead of its May select release.
