‘MUSCLE’ tells the story of Simon Barrett (Cavan Clerkin), an unsuccessful telemarketer (calling himself a Promotional manager) who we become acquainted to, through witnessing his incompetence in sales. He is rather meek and lowly, clearly unsatisfied with his job and in an unhappy relationship with his wife, Sarah (Polly Maberly). Although there are snippets of affection between the two, it is evident that their marriage is falling apart. Simon, for all intents and purposes, is in somewhat of a mid-life crisis, and as he aimlessly wanders he finds a gym called ‘Atlantis’ which piques his interest. The gym becomes a place where he finds some solace from his unhappy existence, but no sooner than a few sessions in, he is introduced to the boorish and aggressive Terry (Craig Fairbrass). Terry immediately chastises Simon, yet also offers to train him all within the initial confronting introduction; and though initially hesitant, Simon […]

It’s not everyday a man wakes up having to live his life looking over his shoulder. For ex-convict Eddie Franks (Craig Fairbass), it’s been a daily practice since childhood. Such is the grim setup as actor-cum-filmmaker Phillip Barantini’s new film, Villain, comes host to a dark, gritty gangster tale with fair loads of violence and gore, underscored by more than its urban crime bearings. To know a film like Villain is to understand the human psyche and what fuel’s a person’s addictive nature. Some are keen on food, sex, drugs and alcohol, etc. Others are in it for the thrill of a thing. The excitement. The danger. Sometimes, one or more of these become a package deal of sorts, and this was especially the case for Eddie having just done a ten year stretch and reunited with brother Sean (George Russo). Eddie’s a lot wiser with age though, and he’s […]

With a powerful performance from Fairbrass, VILLAIN is a gritty British thriller which depicts a dark, criminal underworld. The aforementioned Fairbass is also tapped to appear in Signature’s […]
Not too long since the release of Triple Threat, it now comes down to a matter of days as fans of action movie favorite, Scott Adkins await the release of his newest Jesse V. Johnson follow-up, Avengement. Far from anything pedestrian, the film is consistent with the continued pattern of work from Johnson whose directing career has proliferated favorably in the last few years with Adkins in his stewardship. Avengement is also something special, in a sense, kind of indicative of what Johnson has been trying to crank out in terms of what stories and roles could best flesh out more of Adkins as an actor past the fan-favored Boyka persona that largely crowns his career these days. Much ado was the fallout chatter from early test screenings of Avengement a few months back; It was talk that spotlit this latest outing from Johnson as the quintessential Adkins showcase for […]
Filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson’s Avengement is well on the way and the gospel going around is that’s pretty much gonna be a blast. Samuel Goldwyn is poised for a North American theatrical and VoD release on May 24 while the good folks at UK distro banner, Dazzler, have already begun their campaign with a trailer rollout via Twitter about a week ago. The push continued on Tuesday with an official announcement of its June 17 release on digital download and on Blu-Ray and DVD beginning July 1. British action star Scott Adkins, after causing a world of calamity going toe-to-toe with an all-star line-up in Johnson’s Triple Threat, plays a down on his luck boxer out of prison on furlough, and a score to settle with the people who put him there, effectively turning him into a hardened, cold-blooded killer. Also starring are Craig Fairbrass from Rise Of The Footsoldier, […]

SYNOPSIS: Loving father. Faithful husband. Professional contract killer. Haunted by visions of his violent past, professional hitman Alfie (Craig Fairbrass), spirals out of control. The latest trailer has made its public debut for director and co-writer Brian A. Miller’s upcoming action thriller, The Outsider. The film sets rising action hero, lead actor and co-writter Craig Fairbrass (Vikingdom) in a story of a British soldier who heads to Los Angeles on a personal mission to find his missing daughter. The film also kicks off a new slate of producing and starring credits for Fairbass who recently signed a multi-picture deal with Stealth Media Group’s Adrenaline label, so it’s pretty fair to say 2014 may be a fun year to forward to. The trailer looks great with Fairbass alongside actors Jason Patric and James Caan, as it definitely looks promising for anyone who can always use a good film to enjoy, and as such, that day comes February 7, 2014 on VoD and in U.S. theaters. The Outsider also stars Shannon Elizabeth, Melissa Ordway, Johnny Messner, […]
