From the team behind 2021 action thriller “Last Man Down”!
The Siege opens in theatres Friday, March 10, followed by Digital and On Demand rollouts on March 14. Two years after making headway with his first major attempt in feature lead roles with Last Man Down, actor Daniel Stisen returns to us in familiar form with The Siege which marks a switch in gears for Miss Willoughby and the Haunted Bookshop helmer Brad Watson. The film also features a cast that’s familiar with this platform, namely Black Widow co-star Lauren Okadigbo who has largely been on my radar in stunts per my coverage in The Hit List in the last decade, as well as actor Phillip Ray Tommy who I’ve cast an occasional spotlight on for a number of his work in short films. Full disclosure is warranted here as it was Tommy who at one point connected me with Stisen for an interview prior to his coming out party […]
Saban Films has publicly unveiled the official trailer for The Siege, a brawny new action thriller that sees former bodybuilder-turned-actor and filmmaker Daniel Stisen back in the spotlight following his 2021 coming-out venture, Last Man Down. Miss Willoughby and the Haunted Bookshop helmer Brad Watson directs from a script storied by Tom Paton and written by Nicole Bartlett. An international assassin seeking a new identity at a top-secret compound battles a ruthless squad of mercenaries bent on taking out everyone who stands in their way. THE SIEGE is a brutally intense, adrenaline-fueled action thriller. The Siege also stars Samantha Schnitzler, Lauren Okadigbo, Yennis Cheung and Byron Gibson and opens in theatres March 10, followed by Digital and On Demand rollouts on March 14.
Certainly there’s something admirable about directors intent on adhering to the more nostalgic corners of the market. I’m keen on believing that this is doable, so long as it’s done right and not so much that the vision’s bare-bones execution falls short of any storytelling nous that’s usually required for someone behind the lens and yelling “action!”. The good news here is that director Fansu Njie’s newest action thriller, Last Man Down, introduces a ample-quality presentation to help showcase the potential of its starring actor/producer Daniel Stisen, and potential there is. Even moreso is the signature inspiration that clearly drove this film’s overall look and feel, from its select opening shot – including that of Stisen’s character chopping lugging heaps of wood (never mind that his name is Jon Wood in the film), to a good old-fashioned third act slugfest with the main villain, played by Daniel Nehme. The opening […]
Director Sheldon Lettich confirmed his involvement with action thriller, Fight Pride, in a recent string of interview clips with Viking Samurai channel host, David Kurzhal, on YouTube. Lettich noted that development started when a group of people he’d never worked with before contacted him. “It’s sort of in the vein of Lionheart, so you can see why want me to direct it,” Lettich told Kurzhal, citing the script’s 80s/90s vibe. “It’s a good script,” Lettich continued, adding further news that he is currently circling a cast roster that includes Daniel Stisen (Last Man Down), Michael Paré (South Of Heaven) and Randy Couture (The Hard Way). Penned by Erik V. Wolter, Fight Pride is billed as a drama that takes its cues from Eugene O’Neill’s classic stage play, “The Hairy Ape”. The story centers on Yank, and takes you on “a dramatic, character driven journey of self-discovery of a societal outcast […]

Enter UK/Swedish action thriller, Last Man Down, which now has an official trailer and poster for its Digital and On Demand release beginning October 19, following its acquisition by Saban Films this year. Save for his physical action star appeal given the fruition he’s amassed as a professional bodybuilder, Daniel Stisen has every intent to prove his versatility as a well-rounded actor and producer of stories that compel and inspire, as well as entertain. Over the past week, I got acquainted with Stisen who’s own endeavors of late have seen him make the case to potential investors at this year’s virtual EFM, for projects hailing from his eponymous production banner. His latest shortfilm performance, Gain, is also making the rounds on YouTube – a gritty, NSFW dramatic thriller about the introspective perils of bodybuilding, and he’s currently shopping his newest lead role in action thriller, Last Man Down, on which he is finalizing post-production, along with another project with director Sheldon Lettich, which is currently listed on IMDb for those curious. Stisen reached out to us to share a dialogue and help get […]
