The latest film fair from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is slightly different to his usual action packed, muscle pumping, adrenaline rushing flicks. Instead, he delivers a festive feature which all the family can enjoy. Released early last month on 6th November in theatres it didn’t go to plan as the studio hoped, with it only making $82 million domestically. I think this was down to a number of factors one – it being too early for a Christmas film and two – the decline in cinema goers which is very sad to see. Either way DJ has been saved by the millions of streamers with the film breaking Amazon prime records with a 50 million streams debut. And I was one of those millions who sat down and enjoyed the Christmas tale with a twist. Here is what I thought of it. J.K. Simmons (Santa Claus) and […]

(Deadline) • Trouble Man lines up Michael Jai White along with Method Man, Gillian White, Orlando Jones and more for the action comedy from Samuel Goldwyn Films. (Deadline) • Kodansha and Majestic Limited will bring Origin to the big screen. (Variety) • Ridley Scott will […]
For the part two weekends running Black Adam has become No.1 Movie in the World. To celebrate this momentous achievement we take a look into how the leading man the legend himself, Dwayne Johnson went from superhuman to superhero physique. Images Courtesy Of Warner Bros UK As we all know Dwayne Johnson is never shy of hard work, going by his personal slogan “Hardest Worker in the room” and if you ever tune into his live workouts on Instagram you would fully agree with that statement and some. Black Adam has been 15 years of Johnson’s life from the concept of bringing the character to the big screen to finally opening in cinemas around the globe on 21st October 2022. Over the course of those years DJ has committed and sacrificed blood, sweat and tears in his personally built portable training facility “The Iron Paradise” where he goes, it goes. […]
“The world needed a hero. It got Black Adam.” Such is the tagline for Jaume Collet-Serra’s debut contribution to the DC movieverse with Warner Bros.’s latest tentpole effort starring Dwayne Johnson who’s been actively updating followers on social media since the film’s announcement. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world. It’s been about fifteen years since Johnson stepped up to mantle, and a lot has changed over at Warner since then now that the long-heralded Snyderverse has been uprooted from the studio’s slate. There’s certainly more DC to come with the Shazam […]

Netflix has been “all in” on original productions for years now. Their slate for 2021 though has shown unparalleled ambition by having a new release out every week of this year. The crown jewel of which is, undoubtedly, RED NOTICE. This superstar team-up between Dwayne Johnson (RAMPAGE), Ryan Reynolds (DEADPOOL), and Gal Gadot (WONDER WOMAN) cost the streaming company a whopping two hundred million dollars. This makes it by far the most expensive production in the streaming company’s history. The film is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. He’s the man behind such “four-quadrant” crowd-pleasers as DODGEBALL: A TRUE UNDERDOG STORY, WE’RE THE MILLERS, & SKYSCRAPER (also with Johnson). The teaser which you can view below gives a solid look at what the plot of RED NOTICE has in store: “An Interpol-issued red notice is a global alert to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted. But when a […]

The filmmakers behind upcoming action film production, Red Notice, have landed the project a new home at Netflix according to a Deadline exclusive on Monday. Universal Pictures originally acquired the film in an intense bidding war late last year before dating it for release next November. Production reportedly sensed hesitation and saw a window ten days ago whereupon they introduced the film’s finished script to the streamer. According to Mike Fleming Jr., Netflix affirmed its commitment to the production in multiple aspects, from up-front salaries and backend, to a budget of up to $130 million dollars. Red Notice signals the streamer’s biggest star package to date with a cast that reteams Dwayne Johnson with director Rawson Marshall Thurber following Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. Joining the cast are Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot with a script by Thurber – billed as international action thriller that spans a globetrotting pursuit of the […]
Director David Leitch’s Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw, released its final trailer on Friday for its due date on August 2. To say the stunts and action that have been sampled thusfar are some of the craziest there may be might even be an understatment, underline no less than by what we now see within the new trailers first minute: a riproaring car chase on the streets of London with close calls galore and a shot of the Black Superman himself, Idris Elba, recovering after wrecking through a double decker bus… Yeah… you may want to avoid looking at this trailer lest you spoil the fun of seeing it all unfold on the big screen in a few months. Other than that, you’d be forgiven for endulging in the first place. Elba stars opposite leads Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham with Vanessa Kirby, Helen Mirren and Eiza González, […]

I’m more than sure that I had a better title myself going into this when Universal added a ‘Fast And Furious Presents’ prefix to its Hobbs And Shaw spin-off. Nonetheless, I’m sensing a theme and I’m looking to see how it gets applied as we finally look toward wrapping up the main Fast canon with at least two more films. Otherwise, meet your new cadre of badasses in the official trailer above from Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch. August 2 is date, and I’ll tell you right now, break out your favorite beer for this trailer. It’s a blast!
Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch is readying to rouse the internets who’ve long since waited to see proper footage from his new movie, Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw. Actors Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have already celebrated their film duties via social media after wrapping earlier this week to mark the newest installation of the Fast franchise outside it’s main canon, and are now center stage in their own character poster to start the campaign accordingly. Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Dwayne The Rock Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Jason Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could […]
The extended wait will be over this February when Stephen Merchant’s feature debut at the helm, Fighting With My Family, hits the big screen. This one goes nearly into spoiler territory for some key moments including several that stem from the first trailer so if you don’t want things to be made too obvious for you, don’t look.Otherwise, check it out below. I, for one, had the same issue with the U.S. trailer for Headshot and a producer acquainted assured me not to worry too much. Alas, I might be wrong, but I’m always picky about what my eyes land on so…. yeah. Way to go, Hollywood! You got me now, but I’m banking on there being more to blow my mind in July. Global icon Dwayne Johnson leads the cast of Legendary’s Skyscraper as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader […]
Paramount Anyone’s guess outside the studio circuit is as good as mine at this point regarding what lies ahead with a third G.I.Joe film; Murmurs of Dwayne Johnson circling working title, Ever Vigilant, may ring a bell for those keen on recent news over at That Hashtag Show which should keep fans of The Rock amply pleased. It’s worth noting Hasbro’s recent efforts toward IP expansion on its various properties other than Transformers, and we’ve yet to hear more than what we’ve been given with respect to current scripting and development efforts. Clearly they’ve got their work cut out for them, although that’s not stopping them from striking while the iron is hot. Thus, now comes word of a new G.I. Joe spin-off courtesy of an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit which will focus on key team member, Snake Eyes. Actor, martial artist and comic-con favorite Ray Park […]
Gather what you will regarding recent hype and hope over John Cena’s strive toward joining the Fast And Furious spin-off realm. It’s worth keeping in mind now that we have some fresh and solid news in the trades four years since news broke of what would have been Dwayne Johnson’s starring attachment to an adaptation of late Bourne author Robert Ludlum’s posthumous 2002 novel, The Janson Directive. As of Monday, Johnson’s social media endorsement of wrestler-cum-actor John Cena (Blockers, Train Wreck) further and finally sets things in motion over at Universal Pictures with Johnson executive producing with Seven Bucks partners Dany Garcia. It’s not known yet if the studio will continue forward with its plans as announced in 2016 for a Ludlum-based cinematic universe with The Janson Directive as the launchpad. James Vanderbilt, who co-wrote Johnson’s breakout hit film, The Rundown in 2003, is adapting the novel centered on a covert ops […]
Something tells me that a new trailer is on the horizon for Dwayne Johnson’s new action thriller, Skyscraper. I’m not certain, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled and until then, we now have a new poster online courtesy of our star who was more than willing to share his own declaration along with it via social media. Rawson Marshall Thurber helms for its July 13 release from Universal Pictures. Check out the animated art below! New SKYSCRAPER poster. Nice to feel everyone’s excitement building for this one. Inspired by films The Fugitive, Die Hard & Towering Inferno. I can’t guarantee I’ll save my wife and kid’s lives, but I can guarantee I’ll do everything I can for the rest of mine.
