2017 may well feel like a return to normalcy for fans ardent and loyal to Universal Pictures’s The Fast And The Furious saga. We’ve come a long way since the first film and the franchise has, indeed, evolved into something almost entirely different from what it once was, which is either a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about the previous four, bigger-scale thrillers. Thus, it looks like things will only get bigger in F. Gary Gray’s contribution, Fast 8, judging by the behind-the-scenes footage we’ve spoiled ourselves with in the last few months; From cars toppling from buildings onto the street to explosive tank chases in Iceland, and the inclusion what Gray and co-star Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson promise will be “the prison scene of all prison scenes”… yes, bigger indeed! Production rolls onward as the story of our renegade anti-heroes led by Vin Diesel and […]
Actor and action star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is off to another big year this year. Casting is underway for the upcoming film adaptation of Baywatch next to a bevy of other titles including production on a remake of Big Trouble In Little China. The list goes on in addition to his forthcoming return to “Wrestlemania”, and as such you can now include his newest foray into scripted televsion with cop action series, Boost Unit. The show, which is being produced for Fox, is being hyped to carry the same torch as Johnson did with his latest involvement in the past several years with the Fast And Furious franchise – same wit and energy with an interesting enough plot as it stands. Johnson is expected to return for number eight in the film line with F. Gary Gray directing and filming soon this year, so a show like this seems […]
Pitting two bankable film stars in the same movie is one thing, but just what exactly does one look like with actors Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? Well, for starters, director Rawson Marshall Thurber has an answer to that which begins with the newest trailer for the upcoming action comedy, Central Intelligence, with a plot that surely flips the script, shoots it, crashes into it and throws it out the damn window. Screaming. SYNOPSIS: The story follows a one-time bullied geek who grew up to be a lethal CIA agent (Johnson), coming home for his high school reunion. Claiming to be on a top-secret case, he enlists the help of the former “big man on campus” (Hart), now an accountant who misses his glory days. But before the staid numbers-cruncher realizes what he’s getting into it’s too late to get out, as his increasingly unpredictable new friend drags […]
It was just a few days ago that actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted an Instagram picture indicating a pending announcement stating an upcoming announcement for a new buddy action comedy with a hugely vague hint on who his co-star would be. “…In the right lighting and camera angles, we could pass as twins.” he said, and of course that would throw almost anyone off and into an epic guessing game of who looks like the hulking actor. Needless to say, Tuesday’s news finally stated who that actor would be in the form of someone anyone would least expect, with word from Variety that comedian and actor Kevin Hart would be starring alongside Johnson in Dodgeball helmer Rawson Marshall Thurber‘s Central Intelligence, which will start filming next Spring for New Line Cinema. Several versions of the developing script are underway between Thurber, and writing duos Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen, […]
In anticipation of this Sunday’s broadcast of the official trailer for Furious 7, the production has spent the past week hitting the internet hard and heavy with a new viral social media campaign titled “The Road to Furious 7”, rolling out categorized featurettes highlighting various aspects of the epic franchise exhibited in all the films dating back to 2001. As such, Wednesday saw the release of a few videos and pictures showcasing the franchise’s explosive, bone-crunching fight sequences, with the biggest highlight being the principal fight between characters Dominic Torretto and D.S.S. Agent Luke Hobbs, played respectively by actors Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in addition to another seven-second Vine teasing action from the upcoming seventh installment franchise, briefly showcasing late actor Paul Walker in action opposite a badass-looking Tony Jaa on screen, as well as the two lovely-looking femme fatales, Michelle Rodriguez and MMA superstar Ronda Rousey. […]
It’s considerably awesome seeing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson become one of the most entertaining and bankable actors working in film these days. The Mummy Returns, The Scorpion King, and The Rundown were a huge jumpstart for the former wrestler whose move into film has since brought him in the throes of some of the biggest franchises to to date, including The Fast And The Furious saga and the G.I. Joe movies. Despite his flexible willingness as an actor, he’s particularly one that anyone would look forward to seeing in an action-packed story. Well, Universal Pictures announed its readiness to answer the call back in June when it was reported that Johnson was up for the lead role in new espionage thriller, The Janson Directive, based on the work of Jason Bourne author and creator, the late Robert Ludlum. This week however, the hulking actor took to Twitter to confirm his involvement […]

It’s high time the truth came out this week, long after comic book and movie fans were aching and itching for actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to just “say the word”, as he so eloquently put it in an interview with Total Film about a month ago. Plans are already underway to accumulate feature films based on famed DC Comics comic book characters, including Warner Bros. current production of Batman V Superman: The Dawn Of Justice. One other such film that’s been hyped like crazy is the upcoming production of Shazam, originally rooted at Fawcett Comics as Captain Marvel by artist C.C. Beck and author Bill Parker. As per a lawsuit at the time, Fawcett Comics relenquished the character and all Shazam-related characters to DC Comics between 1972 and 1991, including Black Adam who didn’t appear in the comic series until 1945 from Beck and writer Otto Binder. Fast forward […]
August 15 will be the day that moviegoers will get to officially see the iconic who’s-who of blockbuster fanfare with the release of director Patrick Hughes’s new film, The Expendables 3. Ironically, it will also be the day that the filmmakers and studio involved will see if whether or not the film’s recent illegal leak with affect its box office earnings before ever moving forward with a fourth film. Lionsgate is suing a slate of unnamed defendants for allocating the film through torrent sites two weeks ahead of its release, while the Department Of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also opened up a federal investigation on the matter. It’s a clusterfuck of epic proportions, and needless to say, this all would never be an issue if a bunch of selfish bastards online didn’t steal the film. Personally, I would rather talk about the movies, and that includes the […]
At the moment, promotion is heavily underway for the upcominh July 25 release of director Brett Ratner‘s Hercules, with clips and numerous TV spots already having gone viral. The film was subject to many a tight-lip during its production in Budapest, so much so that up to fifty people were fired for trying to leak photos from the set outside the ones coming directly from lead actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson‘s Twitter feed, and this week the production is finally unveiling the official B-roll from the set. SYNOPSIS: Based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist. The screenplay is by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend… […]
Just in time as action stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Tony Jaa are seen taking photos with director James Wan and the cast and crew of Fast And Furious 7 upon wrapping their scenes, April 3, 2015 is the new date Universal Pictures is announcing for the film’s release. The announcement marks the third change in dates since the film, which also features lead actor Vin Diesel, shifted its original July 11, 2014 date to April 10, 2015 last December, following the off-set accidental death of lead actor Paul Walker last November. Many of the cast members have already wrapped their scenes, including co-stars Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson just a few weeks ago. There’s no official word yet on how the film will transition into its new trilogy regarding the script changes that were required since the film’s temporary hiatus in January, although recent months have revealed […]
#TeamHercules became a thing this week with bonafide action hero Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starting his new motivational campaign for diet, exercise and health awareness. Action blockbusters won’t be running low with actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson taking the lead this July with the forthcoming release of his newest adventure thriller, Hercules from director Brett Ratner. And if it comes as close to author Steve Moore’s original novel as some book enthusiasts and action junkies like may hope, then you can chalk this up as another successful installment into a potential franchise with a sequel. Yes indeed, there are more books from whence this film came via its roots at Radical Comics in 2009, and with any luck, Johnson might say yes. Well, I hope he does at least. This one looks grizzled as all mighty hell with a splash of chilli. Bring ice. Check out the new trailer below and mark your calendar for July 25! SYNOPSIS: Fourteen hundred years ago, a tormented soul walked the earth that was neither man nor god. Hercules […]
If this year’s earlier release of The Legend Of Hercules wasn’t enough for fans of sword and sandal fantasy action, then filmgoers will get their fair share of the meatier, mightier character in the form of actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in director Brett Ratner‘s latest take on the character in Hercules. The film just saw its first teaser trailer last month, hinting at a more grounded, grittier approach to the character while still investing in a few fantasy elements here and there so as to lend more to its blockbuster potential. And this week, we can take a look at some more of that potential in a new semi clip/trailer which you can take a look at toward the bottom of the page. Hercules marches onto the big screen this July! SYNOPSIS: Based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on […]
Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been real busy as of late keeping close to the pulse of his fans through social networking ahead of promoting his next big screen adventure, Hercules. The official trailer premiered at CinemaCon this week, along with a whole new batch of footage of other films heading our way this summer. And today, the official trailer is now online courtesy of Machinima ETC. Unlike the previously released Renny Harlin-directed 3D film, Hercules takes on a whole new level of understanding for the character which essentially appears to do tons of justice for fans of its lead actor whose early resumé includes The Scorpion King; I’m almost inclined to ask you all which of the two would win in a fight, but I digress! At any rate, the trailer delivers solidly with The Rock’s own stamp of approval, and I’ll leave it to you to decide […]
2014 is giving filmgoers at least two Hercules movies this year. And with the first having already made the rounds courtesy of actor Kellan Lutz in The Legend Of Hercules, fans can now gather round for the latest, slightly scruffier, more meatier image below of actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular character in director Brett Ratner‘s own spin on the classic mythological character, Hercules. Take a look: SYNOPSIS: Based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist. The screenplay is by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend… Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient […]

Lutz, who will appear in the upcoming action thriller, The Expendables 3 later this year, has been hitting the presses to promote the film in which he plays the titular role, a demigod betrayed by his Zeus and sold into slavery when his forbidden romance with King Amphitryon’s daughter is discovered. In a recent interview with Collider, the actor also expressed his excitement for director Brett Ratner’s take on Hercules, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and releasing this August. “For me, I’m obsessed with mythology movies, and I wish there was a plethora of these movies, …I’d watch ’em all!” […]

One of the most gifted martial artists in the world. Brother, Tony Jaa. #Thailand #Respect #MuayBoran pic.twitter.com/5DzBOu5I45 — Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) November 23, 2013 One of the biggest main elements expected to mark the release of director James Wan‘s induction into Universal Pictures’s highly successful Fast And Furious franchise is the level of hand-to-hand fight performance being coordinated for the upcoming release of The Fast And Furious 7. Some of the viral media featuring Jason Statham, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez training with international action star Tony Jaa and UFC defending champion and newcomer actress Ronda Rousey has lended some pretty high expectations, in the action department, which guarantees the particular cast expansion seen here in the next film next film will include a little something for everyone, and hopefully, as Diesel himself puts it, “…in a very cool way.”. That said, the latest on-set teaser photos with Jaa and action […]
