[UPDATED] GINTAMA: Meet The Odd Jobs Trio In New Character Posters For Fukuda Yuichi’s 2017 Live Action Adaptation

Having only found out just a few months or so after production on Hentai Kamen helmer Fukuda Yuichi had begun production on a live-action adaptation of popular manga/anime property, Gintama, it was then and there that I decided to catch up. Hence, why many of you who might be following me on Instagram have been seeing gobloads of posts about the show, and I cannot reiterate enough just how much fun the show has been for me. Thus, it is the first day of marketing for the campaign over at Warner Bros. Fukuda's Live-Action GINTAMA Confirms Casting, Possible Plot Details

Oguri Shun and Fukuda Yuchi on the set of GINTAMA (Twitter) News of the live-action adaptation of Sorachi Hideaki’s popular Weekly Shonen Jump manga, Gintama, came as a delightful surprise to me a few months ago. Filming had already went underway and a few miscellaneous set photos started emerging online showing signs of progress following its production wrap back in September. Fukuda Yuichi is directing the film based on the property that sees actor Oguri Shun as Sakata Gintoki, a silver-haired former samurai and founder of his own odd jobs business in an Edo Japan where the arrival and subsequent settlement of the Amanto – a species of alien life, has advanced the nation ahead of its time. Oguri Shun Leads Fukuda Yuichi's Live-Action Manga, GINTAMA, For 2017

Nobunaga Concerto co-star, actor Oguri Shun first came into my purview with Kitamura Ryuhei’s stellar 2003 manga adaptation, Azumi, and its sequel from Kaneko Shusuke a few years later. He’s since gone onto star in other terrific work like Miike Takashi’s ’07 and ’09 adaptations of the Crows Zero manga before reuniting with Kitamura for the title role in Lupin III and Otomo Keishi’s latest cooky murder suspense thriller, Museum, which opens in November. Moreover, Oguri has gone on to co-write the Suzuki Ryohei-anchored gonzo action adventure manga adaptation Hentai Kamen: Forbidden Super Hero, with writer/director Fukuda Yuichi who also helmed this year’s sequel.
