Now On Tubi TV: Jung Doo-Hung Needs Revenge Like He Needs Knife In The Head In Crime Thriller, FIST & FURIOUS

As far as catching streamable rare titles goes, Tubi TV does catch on to some pretty good picks. One of its most recent quiet acquisitions includes Ha Won-joon’s sophomore directing debut, Fist & Furious; I agree, the title sounds like the name of a B-movie release a la The Asylum. Granted though, it hails the return of actor and action star Jung Doo-hung in a key action lead role for the first time since Ryoo Seung-wan’s The City Of Violence. Ha directs from his own script, a story that tells of Kang Ki-man (Jung Doo-hung), a beleagured cop on a mission to bust major drug kingpin, Jung Tae-hwa (Jung Eui-gap). FIST AND FURIOUS: South Korean Revenge Thriller Kicks Out A New Trailer

We have quite a few exciting announcements pending here in the states when it comes to genre releases, and one can only hope they’ll include Ha Won-Joon’s new film, Fist And Furious. Cult action fan favorite, actor Jung Doo-Hong makes a return to the big screen this time as an ex-cop with a knife stuck in his skull and on a mission of vengeance with the help of an opportunistic video jockey, played by Ryu Deok-hwan (Default). Also starring are Seo Eun-ah (Arthdal Chronicles series, Missing), Jung Ui-kap (Chronicle Of A Blood Merchant), Ryu Seung-kuk (Biting Fly), Choi Je-heon (Revenger), Kim Sa-kwon (Musudan), Kwon Jae-hwan (Forgotten) and Choi Ha-na (Giant series, The Mighty Gift). The film is due in July for South Korea – again though, I live in NYC, and my eyes are ready for this too.

Director Ha Won-Joon’s inaugural directorial feat with Stray Dogs invites a refreshing come back for one of the action genre’s most favored and celebrated with the return of actor Jung Doo-Hong in Fist And Furious. The actor and prolific martial arts director and choreographer to hit filmmakers like Yoon Jong-Bin (Kundo), Ryoo Seung-Wan (Arahan, No Blood No Tears, City Of Violence), Kim Jee-Woon (Illang, I Saw The Devil) and Jon Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has been nary seen on the screen save for appearing in a promotional short for Motorola with Kane Kosugi called Timeless, as well as a cameo on hit Netflix series, Sense8, and so seeing him back in his element with this first official trailer going around is definitely going to rouse the senses.
