Liam Neeson starts it all off today with a look at The Commuter. By now a lot of us are already familiarized with the new contained action thriller seeing Neeson’s latest team-up with Jaume Collet-Serra about a man forced to play a dangerous game on a high-speed train. As unassuming as she is, Vera Farmiga stars as our villain this time around and with a release date now set for January 12 and 19 in the U.S. and U.K. respectively. Hans Petter Moland sets things two for two today with a look at Hard Powder also starring Liam Neeson. Taking cues from his own 2014 crime comedy about a humble snowplow driver who sets out to investigate his son’s murder only to offset a turf war between two gangs, a release date remains pending while Neeson is joined by Emmy Rossum, Julia Jones, Tom Bateman and William Forsythe. Lionsgate Variety is reporting that Lionsgate has officially nabbed the U.S. rights to the upcoming black comedy crime thriller remake, Hard Powder. Liam Neeson stars in the remade tale of a humble ski town snowplow driver in the Rocky Mountains who ensues a gang war between opposing sides while seeking bloody vengeance for the murder of his son. Neeson is joined by Emmy Rossum, Laura Dern, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Julia Jones, John Doman and Aleks Panouvic from a script by Frank Baldwin. Hans Petter Moland returned at the helm following the hit Norwegian original, Kraftidioten, which he directed for Magnet Releasing’s 2014 U.S. release re-titled In Order Of Disappearance with Stellan Skarsgård starring. Neeson’s next stop will be in theaters this January in Jaume Collet-Serra’s The Commuter, also from Lionsgate.
Last May it was reported that actor Liam Neeson would stake his claim in a role for a revenge thriller remaking director Hans Petter Molland’s 2014 film, In Order Of Disappearence (Kraftidioten). This week, word coming out of Berlinale confirms the film with Molland returning to the helm and cameras rolling in Banff, Alberta and other areas in Canada beginning in March. Per Variety, Molland will direct Hard Powder which casts Neeson in the wryly comedic role of Nels, an upright snowplow driver who becomes the unlikely nemesis of two warring criminal organizations when his son is found dead, sparking his need for vengenace. Actor Stellan Skarsgård portrayed the lead role for the 2014 film which went on to earn a raft of subsequent wins and nominations in the festival circuit throughout Europe and the U.S., including winning Best Director at Austin. The film was picked up for North American […]
