HUNTED Review: When The Prey Becomes Predator

With a nod to the “Little Red Riding” Hood fairy tale, Vincent Paronnaud’s Hunted is a slick and intense revenge fantasy film. Every woman wants to be taken seriously. And in movies, as in real life, it’s hard to work around some of the professional pitfalls set by centuries of patriarchal traditions. So this is where we meet Eve (Lucie Debay), who is working in the male-dominated field of construction. Her male boss indicates that she’s too nice in her business dealings, and if she doesn’t work up to his expectation, he’ll send her male colleague to finish her job. Cannes Jury Prize-winning Persepolis and Chicken With Plums director Vincent Paronnaud had a good virtual festival run this year with his latest survival thriller, Hunted, which stars Magritte Award-winning actors Lucie Debay (The Confession) and Arieh Worthalter (Girl) for the story of a woman cornered into survival against a sadistic stalker. Nightstream 2020 Review: HUNTED, An Unbound Thriller With Ferocity, And Some Frills

Filmmaker and comic book artist Vincent Paronnaud’s directorial debut is a mix of different things in its execution. In the case of Hunted, these kinds of films are generally entertaining and thrilling to watch; They still take a little more ingenuity each time, and so it depends on the director’s vision, and their handling thereof, and casting Lucie Debay proves an excellent choice for Paronnaud who co-wrote the pic with Léa Pernollet. Following an animated prologue featuring an evening moment of storytime in the woods with a survivalist and her son, Hunted introduces the story of Eve (Lucie Debay), an on-site contract supervisor stressed by her job by the demands of her foreman, and far from interested in answering her loved ones’ calls. Filming in Romania is underway for a new upcoming action thriller titled Hunted. Set for a possible 2014 release, the film reunites Hellbinders helmer Mitch Gould, a fellow actor and action performer solely taking over writing and directing duties for this latest feature production with co-star and stunt coordinator Dan Southworth since both appeared in Isaac Florentine’s 2001 direct-to-DVD martial arts action blowout, U.S. Seals 2: The Ultimate Force.
