French Actioner MAYHEM! Goes To IFC Films For U.S. Release In 2024
Just ahead of its upcoming premiere at Fantasia in Montreal, Xavier Gens’ Mayhem! is on deck to release in 2024 from IFC Films. The film stars Nassim Lyes along with Olivier Gourmet, Loryn Nounay, Vithaya Pansringarm and Sahajak Boonthanakit, from a script by Magali Rossitto, Guillaume Lemans and Gens. While I do not like real-life disasters (I have had enough of those), I do love a good science fiction disaster film. IFC Midnight has recently announced that they have acquired the North American rights to Rubikon. The film is directed by Magdalena Lauritsch and has been shown in other countries, but now it can be distributed in North America. So what’s the film about? Disaster strikes on earth. Paul Solet is a filmmaker who has been making strides in the movie industry for over a decade. Coming onto the scene with the brutal and unique zombie film GRACE. Actor Adrien Brody is diving right into the nitty gritty with a searing look into vengeance and redemption with new crime thriller, Clean. The official poster is now up for viewing below following last month’s trailer debut, with a theatrical release date set for January 28 from IFC Films. Tormented by a past life, garbage man Clean (Adrien Brody) attempts a life of quiet redemption. But when his good intentions mark him a target of local crime boss (Glenn Fleshler), Clean is forced to reconcile with the violence of his past. Clean rejoins Brody with Bullet Head director Paul Solet, who penned the script with Brody. LITTLE FISH Pines For Remembrance Amid Dystopia In The Official Trailer
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is a far different film than Chad Hartigan’s new sci-fi drama, Little Fish, though it’s what echoed to me in terms of story elements and vision, sans the more woeful, interpersonal melodrama of Michael Gondry’s 2004 multi-award winner. This one definitely puts its own spin on romantic narratives through a slightly more escapist dystopian lens and has Olivia Cooke and Jack O’Connell headlining from a script by Mattson Tomlin. The film is now available in select theaters, digital and cable VOD from IFC films.
