His career behind the camera seemed to have grown into itself some working with the likes of Jet Li and Steven Seagal, though his critically panned 2009 film, Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun Li hasn’t given him much room for work, most notably with the looming cancellation of Scott Adkins headliner, Dark Deal a year later. KITE Gets A Brand New Poster, Trailer And U.S. Release Date

Writer and director Ralph Ziman kicked off the year unveiling footage from his latest live-action manga adaptation, Kite, prior to finally acquiring North American distribution courtesy Anchor Bay Entertainment. And this week, with its presentation at this year’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, Canada, the film finally received its official poster and first U.S. trailer. Here is how writer Éric S. KITE Flies Into U.S. Distribution

It was back in January that genre fans and filmgoers alike got to see new extended footage pertaining to the upcoming mystery sci-fi action thriller, Kite, starring actress India Eisley and actor Callan McAuliffe, with Samuel L. Jackson‘s in his latest return to live-action manga/anime storytelling since last year’s release of Oldboy. At the time the film didn’t have any distributors after TWC picked the film up for distribution in the summer of last year. This week, that all changed when Anchor Bay finally picked up the film for distribution rights in North America and Canada, finally bringing the film closer to a release date with more promotional material likely to come down the pipeline soon enough. Jackson‘s latest role after Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake reverts back once more to the cinematic live-action rendering of Japanese manga/anime storytelling, this time in filmmaker Ralph Ziman‘s upcoming mystery science fiction action crime thriller, Kite. Based on Yasuomi Umetsu’s 1998 original video anime, Ziman‘s revisionist adaptation takes you into a not-too-distant future where terrorism and financial collapse have turned society into a state run by a corrupt police force that also benefits from the trafficking of young homeless girls.
