A Hero Returns In The New Trailer For GHAYAL: ONCE AGAIN

Filmmaker Dharmendra’s 1990 action thriller, Ghayal, became an award-winning feat with actor Sunny Deol playing an ex-con on a mission to avenge his brother’s death while clearing his name. Judging by the classic trailer, you could easily suggest a film like this made Deol the household name equivalent of guys like Stallone and Schwarzenegger (those more familiar here may feel free to educate me on this otherwise). Now and more than two decades later, both director and star have finally reconvened for a sequel with Dharmendra handling producing duties, and Deol reprising his role, as well as directing. The task of keeping up with the pacing of movie production in Southeast Asia, particularly in India, can be pretty challenging. As it stands, the industry over there tends to generate close to a thousand of these films every year, including some pretty big actioners, with the quality, size and scale of stuntwork almost consistently increasing with each film, a trend that sites pretty normal for bonafide action hero Akshay Kumar who happens to be a pretty big deal for his fanbase at home. India Fights Back In Director Nikhil Advani's Latest Thriller, D-DAY

July 19, 2013 will see the domestic India release of the Hindi-language espionage action drama, D-Day, co-written and directed by Nikhil Advani. Inspired by the 2011 mission that saw the fatal capture of Osama Bin Laden by Seal Team Six, D-Day tells the fictional tale of four counter-terrorism agents for India’s Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), sent on a deadly mission to Pakistan to capture India’s most wanted man. The film stars Huma Qureshi, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Akash Dhaiya, Shruti Hasan and Rishi Kapoor. Nasser, Sree Swara and Chandan Roy Sanyal round out the cast, with fight training and stunt coordonation by Tom Struthers and John Street, whose most notable credits collectively include Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and writer/director Steven Knight’s noir action drama, Redemption.
