It’s funny recalling director Lu Yitong’s long-awaited period actioner, Invisible Tattoo, as it had already begun its campaign with a brief teaser as early as December 2017 when I initially posted it on my blog. As for its long, dragged-out wait, your guess is as good as mine, in which case, I’m willing to bet it was the politics – be it the sea change of the Chinese government and its extemporaneous affect on the film industry up to now. This goes for plenty other titles long since completed and yet to be released, in my opinion, which will never not be a sad thing to ponder, ever. Continuing the countdown, we’re listing 100 movie titles at five per day going into the holidays and the coming year. Today’s five brings us to the quartermile! Asura: As far as expenses go, stunt professional Peng Zhang’s directorial debut was an ambitious feat aimed for this past summer that should have gone off without a hitch. After being pulled from its two-day theatrical run with a commerical bomb in its wake, the film’s backers hyped a hopeful re-release thereafter for the fantasy epic starring Leo Wu and Zhang Yishang. Could those hopes be prospective this year? We’ll find out soon enough. Vincent Zhao-Starring INVISIBLE TATTOO Inks A Stimulating Action Teaser

Much was ado earlier this season for actor and martial artist Vincent Zhao whose latest with director and co-star Lu Yitong now spawns the retitled period pic, Invisible Tattoo. The project is a 1935-set actioner that takes place in a southwestern salt industry town and there’s no doubt that some thrilling martial arts action will ensue per recent stills and an official teaser now online. Xu Dongdong, Li Mincheng, Sang Ping, Sawada Ken, Juliet Gama and Wang Shengdi also star along with none other than actor and freerunning stunt extraordinare David Belle in his latest stint in China since last year’s Super Express. That’s all there is to document for now about this movie while the teaser itself is ripe and yours to watch and rewatch to your heart’s desire. Peep it.
