Haruka Ayase Pops Off In The First Teaser Trailer For REVOLVER LILY
Toei spent a good many months running a campaign of behind-the-scenes reels to help palpitate audiences awaiting director Isao Yukisada’s latest, Revolver Lily. To that end, and with an official release date in Japan for August 11 now in place, the official trailer is finally here. 1924, Yuri, a former competent spy who murdered 57 people in the past is working as a madam of a small brothel. There she encounters a boy who holds a key to find missing cash of the Imperial Japanese Army. Now, 1000 soldiers are after them; can they possibly survive six days of this deadly warfare? Revolver Lily is based on Kyo Naguara’s Kodansha Bunko publication, and is produced by Toei’s Muneyuki Kii and Daisuke Takahashi. REVOLVER LILY: Toei Pulls The Trigger Launching International Sales At EFM
The teaser I’ve pasted below isn’t much, but it’s plenty to hold onto along with the design art above as we now pay mind to the goings-on at Toei Company who are launching sales at EFM for Revolver Lily, the new action thriller from celebrated director Isao Yukisada (River’s Edge, Theater). The 1924-set live-action adaptation is based on Kyo Naguara’s Kodansha Bunko publication, and centers on Yuri, a brothel Madam who turns to her former skillset as an elite assassin and spy to protect an endangered young boy bearing the key to the imperial Japanese military’s missing funds. Toei’s Muneyuki Kii (Takashi Miike’s First Love, upcoming Shin Kamen Rider) and Daisuke Takahashi, both best known for partnering on Takashi Shimizu’s Suicide Forest Village and Ox-Head Village, are producing the pic.
