It was last year at the tail-end of any thick speculation regarding a live-action film that Revenge Of The Fans touted news of an animated Mortal Kombat movie featuring the voices of Joel McHale (Community) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dragged Across Concrete). It wasn’t exactly news I welcomed at first given the 20+ years of frustration I felt from waiting for new live-action Kombat, but time does change perception; The live-action film from director Simon McQuoid is one year away from its release from Warner Bros. Pictures, while its neighboring animation shingle is now par for the course with Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpions Revenge.
