If you enjoyed the brutal melee of bludgeoning fists and retribution delivered by Don Lee in last year’s The Roundup and you’re ready for impending threequel The Roundup: No Way Out, you’d be wise to stay the course for its fourth outing, The Roundup: Punishment. The production is announcing actor Kim Moo-yul to the cast as the villiain, rejoining him with Lee following their brooding 2019 action thriller, Lee Won-tae’s The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, which landed a surprise addition to the screening slate for Fantasia Festival that year before releasing in North America through Well Go USA. THE ROUNDUP: Don Lee Action Crime Sequel To ‘The Outlaws’ Now Filming
Production is currently underway for The Roundup, a sequel to Kang Yoon-sung’s 2017 action hit, The Outlaws. Lee Sang-young is making his debut at the helm for a returning cast that currently sees Don Lee (The Gangster. The Cop. The Devil., Unstoppable, Along With The Gods 2: The Last 49 Days, upcoming The Eternals), and the new addition of actor Son Suk-ku (Hit-And-Run Squad), with filming expected to wrap this summer. The first film saw Lee at the wheel as Ma Suk-do, a.k.a. “the Beast Cop”, heading a small anti-crime task force and dispensing justice amid warring gangs and the rise of a vicious crime boss in a South Korean Chinatown district in 2004. Actor Don Lee isn’t done kicking ass. Nope, far from it… The star of recent pics including Champion and The Soul-Mate is already in production as of July with 2019-bound thriller, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil from Man Of Will helmer Lee Won-tae. The film centers on a biased cop who finds an unlikely ally in a crime boss who was left for dead amid a spate of gruesome serial killings. Lee’s titular gangster role will see him joined by Kim Moo-yul (Illang: The Wolf Brigade, Forgotten) who plays the cop, and reunited with fellow cohort from The Outlaws, actor Kim Seong-gyu, otherwise playing the serial killer – or the devil, as indicated by the title.
