HERCULES 3D Director Renny Harlin Drops Sequel Clues

Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2 and 12 Rounds director Renny Harlin is lining up post-production on his next hopeful blockbuster, Hercules 3D, starring Kellan Lutz, and also starring Liam McIntyre and Scott Adkins. With all hopes in place for a sequel, Empire got the most recent scoop from the director on what the next hopeful installment would entail. “Our story is the young Hercules, so I would say that the sequel will probably dive into the Labours.” Harlin says. “As you know, in the mythology Hercules ended up killing his wife and children, and as atonement he got the 12 Labours. A new trailer is now online with new info on the upcoming feature film from writer/producer/director Conor Allyn, JAVA HEAT. The film stars Kellan Lutz, Ario Bayo and academy award nominee Mickey Rourke. IFC Films has set the film for theatrical release on May 10, 2013 and is set for release on digital download on May 13. The film is based on a screenplay by co-writer/producer Rob Allyn, with co-production by Seth Baron and associate production by Andy Howard, Kendall McKinnon. While actor Kellan Lutz is not hugely known for action roles, it seems he does rise to the occasion when called upon. The case seems as such for the latest $70 million dollar production push by Nu Image/Millenium from producers Les Welden and Danny Lerner and writers Sean Hood and Giulio Steve. Not to be outdone by director Brett Ratner’s latest efforts with MGM and Paramount, the Heat Vision column of The Hollywood Reporter recently shared updates regarding filmmaker and co-Renny Harlin’s own movement to direct a 3D feature film based on the greek mythological hero, Hercules.
