The Noble Review: ICEMAN 3D (2014)

SYNOPSIS: In the Ming Dynasty, there lives four orphans, Ying (Donnie Yen), Sao (Wang Baoqiang), Yuanlong (Simon Yam) and Niehu (Yu Kang). Raised in Taoyuan Village, the four are as closed as brothers. Their exceptional martial arts skills allows them to reach the highest rank within the imperial guards. After the four successfully killed the Japanese troop leader, the Emperor orders Ying to escort the Golden Wheel of Time from Sindu (now India) back to the capital, which is said to have the power of time travel and foresee into the future. After roughly a year of production filled with more than it’s share of challenges, it appears things are finally coming together with action star Donnie Yen‘s long-awaited two-part epic reboot thriller, Iceman 3D. And this week, we now have a proper trailer that says so, with a lot more to offer on the film’s narrative than seen in previous footage, and should continue to garner further interest. Co-directed by The Wrath Of Vajra helmer Law Wing Cheong, Iceman 3D also stars Wang Baoqiang, Eva Huang and Simon Yam, and debuts in Hong Kong on April 17 before it spreads to China a week later, with details still awaiting for the sequel, in addition to Well Go USA’s North American schedule for the film. We are a little less than a year since having seen the first few teasers go online for director Law Wing-Cheong‘s new film, Iceman 3D as the film’s hectic schedule was ultimately split into a two-movie megaproject. And with the film finally heading to Singapore and China theaters next month, onlooking fans were presented with some brand new poster art with leading man of action Donnie Yen front and center with Wang Baoqiang trailing. In light of the news of Iceman 3D helmer Law Wing-Cheong‘s forthcoming Hong Kong release of the dark new kung fu action thriller, The Wrath Of Vajra, Twitch delivered the exclusive official trailer for the film on Friday which you can check out at the bottom of the page. The film comes home on March 18, 2014 and features Kung Fu Hustle and Flash Point actor Shi Yanneng (a.k.a. Xing Yu) debuting in his first lead role. Also starring are actor Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, actress Zhang Yamei, actor Tony Liu, international action legend Yasuaki (David) Kurata, actor and K-pop artist Steve Yoo, 7-foot tall actor Jiang Baocheng and actor and b-boy dancer Poppin Hyun-joon.
