Paramount Beams Up An R-Rating For Tarantino’s STAR TREK Movie

Earlier this week it was reported that Quentin Tarantino would be wrangling together a writers’ room to kick some ideas around for a possible Star Trek movie. Yes. Apparently the man best known for inspiring groovy 60’s and 70’s aesthetics for landmark crime comedies and one sick old school martial arts saga wants to go where no man has gone before, and he’s at Paramount trying to make that happen this week with J.J. Abrams on board to produce. As of Thursday, Deadline has revealed a striking new development that the studio will take the direction of Deadpool, thus agreeing to Tarantino’s terms for an R-rated Star Trek movie. Moreover, The Revenant scribe Mark L. Smith, among those in the room listed including Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking – 2019), and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, upcoming Hotel Artemis), is a possible frontrunner to pen Tarantino’s script after their hours-long meeting.
