Frank Castle Returns In The New Shortfilm Trailer For THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY

In less than a year, FOX Television cancelled its previously-reported plans to bring Marvel’s The Punisher to the small screen. And there isn’t much news yet to deliver on anymore major productions involving the character, particularly since everyone is pretty much moving into superhero territory at this point. Fortunately, the character is still pretty popular from a live action perspective, especially among cult fans of comic book movies and people who are familar with all three films that have been made since director Mark Goldblatt’s theatrical rendition of the Marvel character in 1989, along with Punisher ’04 star, actor, Thomas Jane‘s most recent reprisal in his shortfilm follow-up, Dirty Laundry. New Extended Promo For AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Today, we have a new series promo with extra footage to highlight the cast of the long-awaited television series, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. from writer and executive producers Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, along with executive producers Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb. Actor Clark Gregg will star along with actresses Ming Na-Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet, and actors Iain De Caestecker and Brett Dalton. Actress Cobie Smulders, who also played S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in THE AVENGERS may appear in the pilot, along with actor J. August Richards who is being speculated to possibly appear as Luke Cage. The series is scheduled for Tuesdays at 8:00pm EST this fall on ABC. Considering that we are in an age of superhero movies, maybe one day soon we will hear from the people at Marvel about a possible live-action adaptation of the character known as, Black Cat, born and raised in Queens, N.Y. (where I am from) who refused to live as a rape victim and chose to develop a unique skill set that combined her fighting skills with her ability to produce “bad luck” for her enemies. I could definitely see how this type of character intrigued director Andrew Dobell, an innovative independent filmmaker who shares an affinity for building a vision of action direction with strong female leads. New Teaser For THOR 2: THE DARK WORLD

2011 and 2012 brought comic book movie fans a chance for a big screen adaptation of the classic hammer-wielding superhero, Thor in a slew of superhero movies that preceded last year’s blockbuster hit, The Avengers starring Chris Hemsworth. Today we are given a brand new teaser for the upcoming sequel, Thor 2: The Dark World, directed by Alan Taylor. The film will see the return of Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, Kat Dennings, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tadanobu Asano, Zachary Levi, Stellan Skarsgård and Tom Hiddleson reprising their roles from the previous films. Stan Lee To Co-Produce ‘Perfect Chinese’ Superhero Film, ANNIHILATOR

Several reports came out as of last week from a press release about an upcoming new film based on one of Stan Lee‘s latest comic book creations, Annihilator, which has been in development since 2011. The feature film will be based on a script from screenwriter Dan Gilroy, whose previous works include Real Steel and The Bourne Legacy. It will be produced by Stan Lee alongside Barry Josephson and Magic Storms Entertainment, along with Douglas Falconer and Chinese state run National Film Capital who is also co-financing the film, which will consist of a budget of up to $150 million dollars.
