Film Of The Week: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (2014)

SYNOPSIS: Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil and her cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan. REVIEW: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was my first big screen experience following director Steve Barron’s 1990 classic. While it does fall short of the expectations most people evidently had for the film, the film does have some really great highs to make up for some of its lows. One of these guys are about to get knocked the f*k out! I can’t remember the last time I’d seen an unwired hurricane kick between so many well connected moves in a test fight like this. But then again, for A-list tricking impressarios and action actors Matt Emig and Daniel Graham, this sort of thing is nothing new as it looks so effortless to the naked eye. And Graham’s fight choreography here is equally superb as well! All in a day’s work for the stunt community at 87Eleven Action Design, which hosts this little gem by way of Emig’s official YouTube channel which you can subscribe to in the embed below.

After just recently debuting the new all-girl action shortfilm, Triumph, formidable stuntman and aspiring filmmaker and stunt coordinator Geo Corvera has a brand new shortfilm available to the public titled, Paladin. Multi-award-winning high profile NASKA, ISKA and NBL martial arts champion, actor, stuntman and Team Emig founder Matt Emig takes the lead in this sword-wielding little gem, whose title carries ancient French and Latin roots with references to a class of knighthood known prolifically by characteristics of chivalry and heroism. Paladin is just one of several online action short gems Corvera is introducing as he enters the new year to engage other opportunities in the stunt and filmmaking fields. If you have been with me since late last year over on my official Facebook page, you have probably seen me share a more diverse collection of material from around the web from movie trailers and news bits to choreography, tricking, freerunning and stunt videos, and probably a few photo collages to try and show for my efforts to make my page unique.
