I promise, I’m a better writer than I am an orator. However, if you have an hour to expend and wanna hear me giggle my ass off while struggling to put words into viable sentences to discuss movies, fandom and the new Scott Adkins action comedy sci-fi, Max Cloud, the latest episode over at Adkins Undisputed is where it’s at. The show is hosted by Michael Scott who previously expressed his views in a piece for our site about Koichi Sakamoto’s 2009 action thriller, Broken Path. Michael and I discuss the film, fandom, and even weigh in a bit on social issues – namely LGBTQ rights. It’s an interesting segway you’ll hear somewhere in there, and I welcome you to listen for yourselves. Next to my episode over at The Movie Dojo this year, this was equally exciting to partake in. Anyone who’s endulged in sci-fi fandom in the last sixty or seventy years will be able to construe what director Martin Owen goes for with his latest endeavor, Max Cloud. The first look stills of the past year were enough to lend something of an idea as to the aesthetic, and the headlining addition of actor Scott Adkins does lend something to look forward to. Certainly, it’s a different kind of film for the relatively well-known martial arts star famously known for his more brooding performances in the Undisputed franchise and Jesse Johnson’s Avengement among other hits. Max Cloud reteams Owen with actress Sally Collet (Twist) who also co-stars, and with whom Owen penned the script. MAX CLOUD: Well Go USA Launches Official Trailer For Scott Adkins Sci-Fi Action Adventure Comedy

Readying what looks to be a December 18 select theatrical and on-demand release from Well Go USA, the official U.S. trailer is now streaming online for action adventure sci-fi, Max Cloud. Martin Owen (Killers Anonymous) directs from a script he co-wrote with Sally Collett, for a cast led by actress Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables, Killers Anonymous), and starring actor and martial artist Scott Adkins (Ip Man: The Finale) in the title role for his latest turn at comedy as well. When teen gamer Sarah finds an “easter egg” and accidentally opens a portal into her favorite side-scroller, she becomes trapped in a notorious intergalactic prison, home to the galaxy’s most dangerous villains. To escape, she must finish the game with a little help from her not-so-savvy friend on the outside…or remain a 16-bit character forever. The film also stars Tommy Flanagan, Lashana Lynch, Elliot Langridge, Franz Drameh, and John Hannah.

Killers Anonymous and Twist helmer Martin Owen’s action-packed sci-fi comedy, Max Cloud, has been acquired by Well Go USA for North American distribution this December on digital and on-demand. Owen directs from a script he co-wrote with Sally Collett, for a cast led by actress Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables, Killers Anonymous), and starring actor and martial artist Scott Adkins (Ip Man 4) in the title role. The story is described as one that “transports viewers back to the era of classic video games, when crimped hair was as hip as velour tracksuits and Animal Crossing and Fortnite were perhaps closer to alien technology than to reality.” Allen plays teen gamer Sarah who accidentally opens a secret portal hidden in her favorite side-scroller, where she finds herself trapped in an intergalactic prison home to the galaxy’s most dangerous villains.
