CREED Gets Its Own Day In Philadelphia In Honor Of Its Release
With any luck, director Ryan Coogler’s latest inheritance of cinematic glory, Creed, will bode well enough for fans of the Rocky saga to garner a sequel and a franchise equally deserving of its own. It’s worth considering to what with its DNA comprising principally of Sylvester Stallone now in a supporting role next to lead Michael B. Jordan as he stakes his claim as the son of fallen character, Apollo Creed. There are loads of substance here and considering Coogler’s acclaim with his previous hit, Fruitvale station, I think Philidelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s announcement of “Creed Day” will be awesomely rewarding in its own right, with some good box office prospects to top it all off.
