Lee Jong-pil might not be a name familiar to most. A quick look-up notes several of his screen appearances as an actor, namely as a detective in Lee Jeong-beom’s action hit, The Man From Nowhere. It would only be a few more films after until Lee would ascend to the mantle of director for several titles of his own, including his award-winning 2020 flick, Samjin Company English Class. To date, Lee’s work at the helm continues with Escape, starring Lee Je-hoon (Time To Hunt), and Koo Kyo-hwan (Escape From Mogadishu).
