COYOTE: Paramount Network Launches New Scripted Border Drama Starring Michael Chiklis

It’s difficult to not invoke the least bit of correlative timing for Paramount Network’s newest greenlit series Coyote, premiering in 2020. Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Chiklis (The Commish) is set to star in the new scripted drama which comes at a lately grim, politically tumultuous time in America encompassing the national dialogue surrounding the immigration polices of the current administration. David Graziano (American Gods, Southland) will serve as showrunner and co-write this particular endeavor which centers on Chiklis in the role Ben Clemens, a former border patrol agent who after 32 years in the field, is forced to work for the very people he spent his career trying to keep out of America. There’s plenty to be thankful for in continued efforts to adapt Image Comics property, Cowboy Ninja Viking. That one is still moving forward at Universal and Deadline has the latest word on it that award-winning Breaking Bad EP, Michelle MacLaren has reportedly been ironing her own deal out with the studio to direct, and so it is. Craig Mazin’s updated draft from that of Zombieland scribes Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese is based on the 2009 publication from Image Comics via Shadowline; Created by writer A.J. WONDER WOMAN Gets Patty Jenkins To Direct!

It’s been two days since veteran television showrunner Michelle MacLaren reportedly left Warner Bros. long-awaited production of its forthcoming DCCU property, Wonder Woman, following her attachment to the film back in November last year. Alas, it was probably good that the studio stayed awake and in case things didn’t work out right away, and luckily, troubleshooting this one issue wasn’t so difficult. Word from THR states that Patty Jenkins has been tapped to replace McLaren who departed the film citing “creative differences”. Jenkins is best known for her work on her multi-award-winning 2003 debut crime pic, Monster, and was once tappd to direct the 2013 release of Thor: The Dark World herself before Terminator Genisys helmer Alan Taylor took the chair. WONDER WOMAN Gets Michelle MacLaren To Direct!

Without further delay, word from The Hollywood Reporter announced that Michelle MacLaren has officially signed on to direct the forthcoming Wonder Woman feature film, based on the original comic book superheroine created in 1941. MacLaren‘s attachment comes just a month after it was stated that a female director was being sought after for the film, for which actress Gal Gadot was formally brought on to star in the title role almost a year ago. The film would mark the first of a trilogy to fit somewhere in between the latter four years of the current WB/DCU schedule with Wonder Woman set to release on June 23, 2017.
