By now you’ve probably seen the viral video of actor Tom Cruise injuring himself during a stunt on the Paris set of the sixth Mission Impossible film. Thankfully it hasn’t suffered tragedy currently being endured on two other known productions this summer, but it does exemplify the dangers stunt performers, and even bold actors face when pushing the envelope – something Cruise is known to do. Well… pushing it this time around has cost him, at least tentatively, sending the production into an eight-week hiatus, and producers into troubleshooting mode, according to sources reported by The Wrap. Filming is currently underway in France for writer and director Christopher McQuarrie’s latest installment with the sixth Mission: Impossible film for Paramount and Skydance. Given this, it’s likely that miscellaneous fan photos of the set would be discovered and as it turns out, there’s a whole viral batch of jubilant behind-the-scenes gems on Instagram with our cast on set, a few of which include and otherwise confirm actor and martial artist Joey Ansah. The sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been a bit stifled but is slowly taking shape nonetheless for its Spring start date and presumably 2018 release. Thus, casting news this week confirmed Netflix series The Crown co-star Vanessa Kirby was in talks for a role in the new film which will ultimately see actor Tom Cruise back in the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Details of her role are pending among others while Variety reports Cruise is producing the film with producer David Ellison, and with a script by Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation helmer Christopher McQuarrie who is back in the director’s chair. Paramount Showbiz411 reportedly has it on good terms that actress Rebecca Ferguson will likely be reprising her role as Ilsa in the forthcoming production of the sixth Mission: Impossible film. The news comes within months since actor Tom Cruise confirmed a new movie was in development back in July in the wake of the film’s successful theatrical release with word of Christopher McQuarrie’s return to the director’s chair as of recent. Ferguson contribued greatly to her role in the film which takes off initially as a wild card for lead character Ethan Hunt as he and his team faced off with a rogue terrorist organization of anti-spy mercenaries nearly equal in skill and scope.
