Historic action film that tells the heroic deeds of Xin Qiji, poet and chivalrous hero from the Song Dynasty who took up arms to recover the lost lands and expel the Jin Army, in order to recover the Central Plains region, pacify the north, and serve for national reunification. DEFIANT: Miu Tse Is A Blind Swordsman In The Official Trailer

Actor Miu Tse (a.ka. Miao Xie) continues his momentum of late with his latest period sword thriller, Defiant, which is set to arrive this week on iQIYI Cloud Cinema. The new actioner comes from producer Wei Junzi, and writer/director Yang Bingjia who previously wrote Xiang Hesheng and Xiang Qiuliang’s The Thousand Faces Of Dunjia, as well as Qin Pengfei’s As God in which Tse also stars. Defiant centers on Cheng Xiazi, a blind swordsman and who head of the highest judiciary Dali Temple who finds himself standing as a warrior against injustice after meeting a young alcohol saleswoman named Ni Yan, whose family gets murdered. Also starring are Gao Weiman, Xiang Hao, Liu Ben, and Zhang Di, and with action sequences also by Qin, who served similarly on films like God Of War, Painted Skin and Red Cliff.
