The Fall season really is off the hook. More stunt reels, more screenfighting gems and dazzling action shorts continue to flood your way, and as always, I’m more than gratified to help bring it to you…and with a bit of a throwback bonus at the end!… However, in the name of giving it up to the very people who make the action genre what it is today, first things first! Kicking off The Hit List is a brand new playlist of stunt reels by Ashley Hudson, Gary Peebles, Lamar Bumbrey, Jace Jeanes, Tom Caserto and Jae Greene, and the latest reel from Perry Vangoethem and the French fight guys over at Actiengage! Up next, we have a little more freerunning, and here are just a few videos in that category to add a little variety courtesy of Team Farang, a little highlight reel from the Southern Festival back in July […]
The past week has been full of stunts, but not without a dash of drama – particularly over the haphazard-yet-brazen attempt of one particular person’s attempt at stealing glory she didn’t deserve. It happens often and it ALWAYS deserves calling out. In lieu of this, however, it also presents an opportunity to show some appreciation to one other aspect of the stunt community worth commending: The Stunt Drivers. Alas, kicking off this week’s Hit List is a small handful of reels of talented stunt drivers, namely Furious Seven stuntwoman Debbie Evans in her 2011 motorcycle stunt reel, along with reels from Laura Lee Connery, Matt Covert, Marcos Garcia, Danny Bopp and Bastian Kern, showing us how it’s done! Now, let’s get some more reels going featuring the recent feats of Marlee Barber, Jeremy Marinas, Morgan Benoit, Alex Duong, Gabriel Caste, Zoltan Hodi, Kendall Wells, Jake Eavey, Max Calder and actor Jason Statham […]
Those who often attend film festivals may be familiar with the work of filmmaker Paul Nicoletos, best known for delivering recent notable short films like the sci-fi thriller, Icarus Down, and last year’s sci-fi action hit, Kill Shelter. Nowadays, he and producer Viet K. Huynh have moved on with other endeavors, namely working on another proof of concept they hope to turn into a feature film in 2015 in the form of the new fantasy martial arts thriller from Reloaded Films and Teru Media, Dragon’s Blade (CLICK HERE for disambiguation). Nicoletos spoke exclusively to Film Combat Syndicate about the production and where plans to take it between now and in 2015. “Our goal with the short is to get people interested and find potential producers and investors who would like to make this into a feature.” he said. “I feel like this story truly has potential to be not so […]

Nowadays, it appears Flaherty is ready to stir things up following its debut at Cannes, which means some brand new sales ink. It also means a trailer, and no, it’s not for the faint of heart. But it’s safe to say that this little gem isn’t exactly geared toward the PG-13 crowd. Grown folks only, kids! Check it all out below! SYNOPSIS: BRUTAL centers on Trevor (Morgan Benoit), abducted from his backyard at the age of fifteen by an unseen alien presence. Forced into nearly two decades of savage fights to the finish against other abductees inside an unearthly mixed martial arts arena, Trevor has evolved […]
