Noted screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan (21 Bridges, Deepwater Horizon, The Kingdom) is ready to make your Thanksgiving Day weekend with his feature directorial debut, Mosul. Carnahan partnered with celebrated Marvel Cinematic Universe shepherds Anthony and Joe Russo who previously scored with Sam Hargrave’s Extraction, and are also on the way with Tom Holland drama, Cherry. Carnahan wrote the pic based off news coverage by The New Yorker’s Luke Mogelson, covering the fight against ISIS extremists by local civilians, including in one piece in 2017 titled “The Desperate Battle To Destroy ISIS”.
