CITY HUNTER follows Ryo Saeba, a “sweeper” who navigates the shadowy depths of modern-day Shinjuku, Tokyo. Balancing a cool demeanor with a fun personality, Ryo takes on high-stakes challenges in the underworld. After receiving the message “XYZ, please find my sister,” Ryo and his partner Hideyuki go on to search for Kurumi, a famous cosplayer. Meanwhile, mysterious violent incidents are taking place in Shinjuku, and Saeko, a skilled police detective is having a tough time solving these cases. Ryo and Hideyuki work in tandem to pursue Kurumi, but tragedy strikes when Hideyuki is killed during the investigation. Witnessing her brother’s death, Kaori implores Ryo to uncover the truth behind the incident.
I didn’t have much access to Nickelodeon in 2005. It’s a circumstance that certainly made getting on the Avatar: The Last Airbender hype train all the more challenging at the time, although I had other matters of interest in film I was tending to on a blog I started with similar inspirations echoed on this one.
Netflix unveiled the official trailer for the eight-part first season of The Gentlemen, premiering March 7. The series marks the next chapter for director Guy Ritchie’s crackling 2019 crime flick which now sees him back at the wheel with none other than Theo James leading the charge.

Netflix’s K-content announcement is making the rounds these days. Worth spotlighting in my book is Officer Black Belt which comes from “Bloodhounds” shepherd, writer/director Jason Kim and announced last year with actors Kim Woo-bin and Kim Sung-kyun.
Netflix is out with the official trailer for House Of Ninjas. It’s a show about ninjas, and a family of ninjas! Actor Kento Kaku leads the cast of the new action drama which arrives February 15.
Titled as it was for Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1953 classic, such will be the case for hitmaker Julien Leclerq’s own iteration for Netflix with The Wages Of Fear. The first official teaser is out and marks another notch on the belt for Netflix as terrific as it continues to track with French action and adventure titles.
February is going to be a gamechanger for a lot of fans of ethnically diverse shows and films, specifically on Netflix. The streamer’s adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender has proven to be much more dynamic and authentic under the stewardship of creator Albert Kim, in succession from the show’s heyday as an iconic Nickelodeon property. And that’s just based on some of the promotional footage and images that have rolled out in the last few months for the show.
From Today, It’s My Turn!! and Tokyo MER: Mobile Emergency Room The Movie actor Kento Kaku can now be seen front and center in a first look poster for upcoming series drama, House Of Ninjas. Kaku stars, served as co-executive producer and also had a hand in crafting the story alongside Yoshiaki Murao and Takafumi Imai. Masahiro Yamaura, Kota Oura, and Kanna Kimura penned the story along with Dave Boyle who directs the new series which premieres beginning February 15, produced by Netflix in association with TOHO Studio. The momentous arrival of new crime drama series The Brothers Sun brings promise with a first episode that delivers multitonal drama and comedy with several servings of violence and fisticuffs. Eight episodes are streaming on Netflix following its premiere on Thursday so after this, you’re welcome to dive in for yourselves if you’re keen as this review will just cover the pilot episode.
Don Lee comtinues to be a welcome feat in the new year, punching and decapitating things in fine form as he heads up Badland Hunters, a sequel to Um Tae-hwa’s award-winning survival epic, Concrete Utopia which comes to Netflix on Janaury 26. Formerly titled “The Wilderness,” the actor is joined by director and stunt specialist Heo Myung-haeng who takes to the helm for his second time after the two wrapped up production on directing the upcoming fourth installment of “The Outlaw” franchise, The Roundup: Punishment.
Netflix has reportedly acquired martial arts drama Warrior for streaming in February 2024. The news comes by way of Deadline’s Rosy Cordero who also notes the show’s original platform, Max, has no plans to venture into a fourth season, and that all the actors have been released from their contracts.
