Lee Yoon-chang’s 2018 webcomic comes to life this summer with My Daughter Is A Zombie, starring Cho Jung-seok and Choi Yoo-ri. The first official teaser is now online as well the poster from Korean distributor, Next Entertainment World. The film, directed by Pil Gam-seong (Hostage: Missing Celebrity) takes place one year after an unprecedented zombie attack that killed hundreds of thousands. Since then, Korea has been declared zombie-free, with the story centered on survivor Jeong Hwan (Cho), who holds a secret: his daughter, Su Ah (Choi) is the last zombie left on Earth. As Jeon Hwan fights to satiate her cravings, he must reconcile with whether or not he’ll be able to maintain some semblance of normalcy and protect Su Ah much longer. Check out the teaser below ahead of the film’s local release in July.

Writer/director Lee Yo-sup’s new thriller has taken a long road until now. As of early Monday, The Plot unravels for the new flick starring Gang Dong-won in the first teaser ahead of the film’s May 29 release in Korea. Gang plays a hitman named Brain who has to get to the bottom of his latest and deadly riddle when a hitjob goes awry. Lee’s The Plot takes its inspiration from the Soi Cheang-directed 2009 flick, Accident. The Plot also stars Lee Mu-saeng, Lee Mi-sook, Lee Hyun-wook, Tang Jun-sang and Kim Hong-pa. New World, The Witch 1 & 2 and Night In Paradise director Park Hoon-jung is turning in another entry into the fast-moving and gritty crime arena this time with The Childe. Next Entertainment World launched the official first teaser on Monday commencing the campaign whilst aiming for a local June 21 rollout. Directed from a script also by Park, Kang Tae-joo makes his feature debut in the lead role of a struggling Filipino-Korean boxer with an ailing mother. When he receives an unexpected call and is taken to Korea and sets out to find the father who abandoned him, he finds himself running for his life as he’s mysteriously spied on and chased for malevolent reasons. Also making his feature debut is actor Kim Seon-ho, with Kim Kang-woo (Guimoon: The Lightless Door) and Go Ara (Phantom Detective) also starring. Enjoy the teaser!

Deadline‘s Peter White is reporting exclusively that stunt coordinator and filmmaker Jung Byung-gil will be on par to direct a pilot episode for a TV series adaptation of 2017 Cannes favorite, The Villainess. Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead) is shepherding the series in a deal with Next Entertainment World’s Contents Panda with the search now underway for a series writer. The Villainess follows Anes, who was kidnapped from her home in Korea and raised as a deadly assassin in Los Angeles. Award-winning Train To Busan director Yeon Sang-Ho is far from finished with the apocalyptic zombieverse he initiated in 2016. Jean Noh’s Monday report at Screendaily is just the latest bit of confirmation we’re getting on the acclaimed Train To Busan helmer’s efforts toward a sequel, two years since garnering festival praise and box office approval in South Korea and through Asia. That same year also saw updates of Gaumont’s own acquisition of the film for a possible English-language remake. Previous reports of sequel hopes have seen actor Gong Yoo weigh in from time to time, although news now indicates the film, tentatively titled Bando (a.k.a. Peninsula), will be just a continuation Train To Busan and set in the same universe with a new cast of characters.
