I’ve been off-and-on in touch with filmmaker Ranjeet S. Marwa as post-production stayed onward for his new movie, Exiled: The Chosen Ones, and I’ve learned just a few tidbits about the project and even gotten to take a look at some of the action. What I can divulge is that there can be well over a dozen action sequences from respective starring actor/choreographer and action director, Sunny Pang (The Night Comes For Us, Headshot) and co-star Nick Khan, and also, based on what I’m told, folks watching the film will be in for some cool surprises. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from director Ranjeet Marwa since the crank-up began last year for his most recent films, Exiled: The Chosen Ones. To be clear though, Marwa and producer Djonny Chen have been busy developing other projects as well as toiling through post-production, including a small round of additional shoots which wrapped in Jakarta. Having since completed the Birmingham shoot late last year for most of the cast including Sunny Pang and Hannah Al-Rashid, the new footage now includes shots of Oka Antara as promised upon earlier casting, including a shot Marwa teased on Instagram on Wednesday. Protracted development otherwise remains underway for the Ranjeet S. Marwa action thriller, Blood Rush, and several additional actors are now eyeing the project for varying starring and support roles. Among the lot is Balinese actor Oka Antara, who has been in preliminary dicussions with Marwa for a few days now. In addition, actor and stunt performer Andrew Suleiman will enlist in a small role next to working behind the scenes on fight choreography with Nick Khan. Heralded Hollywood exec producer Mario Kassar’s recent exploits in Southeast Asia are no longer a visual mystery with the first teaser footage now running for forthcoming sci-fi action thriller, Foxtrot Six. The film marks Randy Korompis’ directorial debut, and it’s a pretty sizeable one for a film of its kind it its own region, backed by a budget of up to ten million (last we heard) and slated to be the first of hopefully several initial Hollywood-style blockbuster Southeast Asia productions in recent memory.
