OPPONENT: A Family Man Grapples With A Nightmare Scenario In The Official Trailer Ahead Of Berlinale

Next month’s 73rd Berlinale will see the World Premiere of Swedish/Norwegian co-production, Opponent. The film marks a third offering from Milad Alami who wrote and directed the film, and starring Payman Maadi whose credits partly include Michael Bay’s 13 Hours and 6 Underground. Iman, an Iranian, lives with his family in Sweden in an ever-changing succession of refugee hostels. To increase his chances of obtaining residence permits for them all, he resumes his career as a wrestler – and is confronted with why he had to flee. The “why” gets some chilling hints in the trailer which has been online for a while now.
