Superheroism has a new face in China in the form of director Da Peng’s latest, Jian Bing Man. The international title translates to Pancake Man with a story centered on a food vendor fight crime using superpowers rooted from the dishes he serves, and time will tell how that will match up against lead villain, played by none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme. At any rate, audiences overseas will be catching the film on July 17 while word has it from Variety that the film will be getting some limited theatrical screentime in North America starting July 24 from Asia Releasing by way of rights holder Magnum Films.
