Writer-director Park Dong-hee’s new thriller, Drive, has already hit several festivals in the last few years. The film is also in M-Line’s international sales lane for the markets, and has finally tacked on a June theatrical release in South Korea. The movie features Seoul Vibe actress Park Ju-hyun in the role of Yuna, a famous YouTube influencer who always looks down on others. Plans to attend a cosmetic brand launch party go awry and she decides to drink her frustration away before calling a designated driver and falling asleep. Buzzed, she wakes up and soon realizes she’s been held hostage in the trunk of a car. With no way out, and her captor demanding she livestream her crowdfunding ransom, Yuna has no choice but to play her part, even as jaded viewers watch on in disbelief.
