TAKEN FROM RIO BRAVO: ITN Takes North America For Alexander Nevsky’s ‘Gunfight At Rio Bravo’ Sequel
ITN Distribution has acquired North American rights Taken From Rio Bravo, the sequel to Joe Cornet’s Gunfight At Rio Bravo starring Alexander Nevsky (Showdown In Manila, Black Rose). Nevsky, a three-time Mr. Universe bodybuilding champion, is again joined by Cornet who co-stars, as well as directs from a script by Craig Hamann. Based on a real life brigadier general who led the Union army during the Civil War, Nevsky reprises his role as Ivan Turchin, a mysterious gunslinger who, in the first film, joins Sheriff Vernon Kelly (Cornet) in taking down a vicious gang. In Taken From Rio Bravo, Turchin and Kelly set out to pursue a gang of sadistic human traffickers – known as The Posse – who have kidnapped five women. Taken From Rio Bravo also Cynthia Rothrock, Tatiana Neva, and Don “The Dragon” Wilson, with Matthias Hues and John Fallon reprising their roles from the first film. […]
SRI ASIH: Shout! Acquires North American Rights For Indonesian Superhero Pic
It’s been a long time coming, but Indonesian superhero adventure Sri Asih finally has a home with Shout! Studios set to release the pic on multiple platforms later this year. Actress Pevita Pearce leads the cast of the film based on comic author R.A. Kosasih’s 1954 creation. Sri Asih is only the second in a string of comic book properties to be adapted out of the Screenplay Bumilangit wheelhouse. It follows Joko Anwar’s inaugural actioner, Gundala starring Abimana Arysatya, with the third being Ody C. Harahap’s Virgo and the Sparklings featuring Adhisty Zara. RUTHLESS: Dermot Mulroney Tapped To Headline Revenge Thriller From Art Camacho
Premiere Entertainment Group is launching sales at the American Film Market next month for Ruthless, a new revenge thriller from action veteran Art Camacho (Sci-Fighter, Wild League). Dermot Mulroney (RLJE Films’ Section 8, Amazon Prime series “Hanna”) is set to star from a script by Camacho and co-scribe James Dean Simington, with additional casting being finalized as cameras are set to roll next week Monday in Nevada. Mulroney will star as a high school coach “traumatized by the death of his daughter, who takes matters into his own hands by going after the men who kidnap one of his students for a sex trafficking operation.” Elias Axume is producing for Premiere with Al Bravo of Al Bravo Films. A small change to the title of actor and producer Alexander Nevsky’s inaugural Western now leaves us with an official look at Gunfight At Rio Bravo, thanks to an all-new trailer following its exclusive debut over at JoBlo. Its sequel remains pending following its announcement earlier this month. In the film, Nevsky plays a mysterious Russian gunslinger who aids a marshal and a sheriff as they stand up to a bloodthirsty outlaw gang known as The Hellhounds who have invaded their small East Texas town. L.A.-based Premiere Entertainment Group acquired worldwide rights to the Joe Cornet-directed pic in which is screening for buyers at the Cannes market. PALIDO: Kellan Lutz Action Thriller Heads To Cannes With Key Sales Art For Premiere
Actor Kellan Lutz will star in writer/director Javier Reyna’s new action thriller, Palido. Further casting is already underway with L.A.-based Premiere Entertainment Group announcing the pic this week with sales art to present at next week’s Cannes market repping worldwide sales. Lutz, whose credits partly include The Twilight saga, Extraction, The Legend Of Hercules, Java Heat and The Expendables 3, will play an attorney with a military past who hunts down the gang that killed his wife and brother, and took his daughter. The Cannes Marche du Film is taking off in May with Premiere Entertainment Group launching its slate for world sales. The package will surely include its most recently-wrapped action thriller, Shrapnel, starring Jason Patric (Sleepers, Narc) and Cam Gigandet (Twilight, The Magnificent Seven), and is directed by William Kaufman (The Brave, upcoming The Channel). Patric will play a rancher who crosses the border in search of his missing daughter who mysteriously vanishes during a trip to Mexico with her best friend. He decides to take matters into his own hands, with the help of a former Marine buddy (Gigandet), after the local authorities provide little help and he discovers that they are in cahoots with the dangerous cartel behind his daughter’s disappearance. Peter Mimi’s latest 1952-set thriller, Karmouz War, saw a release in Egypt over the summer and now the film will be setting sail in the marketplace courtesy of Premiere Entertainment Group. The Los Angeles-based company has launched talks with buyers for the film which stars Amir Karara opposite action star Scott Adkins, and is penned by Mimi from a story by producer Mohamed El Sobky. A British soldier (Adkins) is locked up by his own army for military misconduct, but is unleashed by the British as their secret weapon when fighting the Egyptian soldiers, who are led by General Yousef al-Masri in Karmouz, Alexandria during English-occupied Egypt.
