REVIEW: It’s not everyday you get to see a Puerto Rican-produced martial arts film…well, at least it felt that way until about 2011 with the rollout of director Andres Ramírez‘s action adventure, El Testigo (The Witness). Featuring the stylings of lead actor, writer and stunt coordinator Jose Manuel, the film was ultimately the first of its kind in Puerto Rico to reportedly cater to the martial arts movie niche. Independent productions can take great lengths of time to put together, a fact known full well for actor and martial artist Wildchild Gil Sanabria following an earlier teaser for his upcoming shortfilm thriller, Breed Of Hunters. The project was already on its way a bit before then, but slowed down due to necessary rewrites following a departure from one of the actors involved. Rewrites are currently being done for the project which is now expected to fully commense hopefully earlier next year with a new script and cast (and possibly a new title) to accommodate an otherwise great-looking, original project. Award-winning fight choreographer, action actor and martial artist Wildchild Gil Sanabria was last known to be working on the script for the hopeful production of the sequel to writer and director Andres Ramirez’s 2011 action comedy thriller, El Testigo. While details on that production remain up in the air, action-hungry netizens can finally catch the latest teaser for Sanabria‘s upcoming new 15-minute online shortfilm, Breed Of Hunters. Filming initially began last year, followed by a long hiatus due one of the actors moving out of the country. Production has since continued and remains on-going for fans who love action and watching it all online, so as far indie productions usually ago, we will hopefully catch this one later this year.
