CHUNGKING MANSIONS: Rina Takeda And More Circle New Zombie Thriller Set In Hong Kong
Actress Rina Takeda (High Kick Girl, Karate Girl, Danger Dolls, Attack On Titan) is one in a quintet of screen talents being circled for new movie, Chungking Mansions. The action horror hails from Phoenix Waters Productions in co-production with AMM Global, will be directed by Bizhan M. Tong (The Escort, Lockdown) with cameras rolling next Spring. According to Deadline‘s Andrea Wiseman: The action-thriller will film primarily in English – the lead character is an American desperately striving to save his wife and child who are holed up in Chungking Mansions – but we’re told the film will feature a number of languages including Japanese, Cantonese, and Korean to reflect the multi-cultural nature of both the production and Chungking Mansions itself. Higuchi Shinji And Kenji Tanigaki Lend Their VOICES In A Powerful New Set Teaser!
Whatever is happening in Japan right now between filmmaker Higuchi Shinji and Rurouni Kenshin trilogy action director Kenji Tanigaki, it’s starting to draw some serious attention. Higuchi‘s most recent obligations have been to Toho’s forthcoming Shin Godzilla movie following his completed Attack On Titan twofers which are finally making headway in North America this season.
