By now the official trailer for S.S. Rajamouli’s new film, RRR, is pretty much selling itself after its exclusive theatrical cast and crew press premiere on Thursday. And not for nothing either, as it’s host to a slew of striking imagery to capture the mood and tone, with none other than actors NT Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan at the fiery forefront of this explosive tale of two freedom fighters rebelling against the British empire. That’s pretty much all we’ve had to go on up to this point, and gladly we have a trailer that dives a little more into the nuances of the premise. There are hints between some of the editing but there’s plenty for you to put two-and-two together to elucidate how our protagonists are brought full circle. Also listed are Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson among the cast […]
Following the releases of two anthems and a teaser in the past month, the newest poster is now online for S.S. Rajamouli’s new period thriller, RRR, signaling a December 3 trailer launch. The film stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan as freedom fighters in a story set in the 1920s, with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris also starring. Slated for release on January 7, 2022, RRR (also recognized as “Rise, Roar, Revolt”) is one of the biggest and most anticipated films of the new year, after four years of active development, of which three years saw principal photography with a production that stared down the global COVID-19 pandemic before finally wrapping back in August. The second is billed as […]
It’s been well over three years since the wheels began turning for the production of director S.S. Rajamouli’s latest major film effort, RRR. The famed Baahubali helmer crafted the film with screenwriter K. V. Vijayendra Prasad for a cast led by actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan with plans initially to release the film last summer only to realize its forthwith battle with a lingering pandemic that infamously put the global film industry at a standstill. Thankfully though, production has stood the test of time and has since contended with the hurdles it needed to, with Lyca Productions stamping a January 7, 2022 release date to its current promotional campaign which now includes a fully-fledged and brief teaser trailer to sample some of Rajamouli’s epic 1920-set revolutionary tale. Also starring are Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson.
You’ve probably seen S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali films memefied at some point in recent history. If you have, then you might have an idea as to the degree of combined ridiculousness, awesome moments of stuntwork and battle scenery the two back-to-back films offer, and as silly as they are, you would be completely forgiven for enjoying the hell out of those movies. Conceived originally by Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, both were box office hits starring actors Prahbas and Rana Daggubati in the epic tale of self-discovery for a long lost son, legendary warrior and born leader as he battles to claim his birthright and save the kingdom of from a tyrannical government that has usurped itself to power. Preamble within the concurrent film story, actress Ramya Krishnan coveted the role of warrior queen Sivagami, the most powerful female character of the films as Queen Mother of Mahishmati and adapted […]
