The first few stills are now out for Neil Marshall’s new action thriller, Duchess. Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights to the pic for a 2024 release, as announced on Thursday by Palisades Park Pictures CEO, Tamara Birkemoe. Starring Charlotte Kirk who also penned the pic with Marshall, Duchess follows no-nonsense Scarlett Monaghan (Kirk) and her rise from a working-class petty criminal to becoming a ruthless organized crime leader in the seedy underbelly of the diamond smuggling circuit of Tenerife. I’ve long grown to appreciate Byron Mann for his contribution to my film consumption growing up since Street Fighter and the Mark Dacascos-led Crying Freeman, and I’ll always continue to believe he deserves to be a bigger star. For this, I love that he’s found posterity in a variety of roles that have kept him relevant to this day, and that’s not to say he hasn’t had some misses over the years.
