THE HEART Beats For Sierra/Affinity At EFM, Casts Rockwell, Spencer And Janney
Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants, Fox Seachlight’s upcoming Downhill) are set to reunite with fellow Academy Award-winners Sam Rockwell and Allison Janney (The Way Way Back) for new movie, The Heart, which rolls cameras at the end of the year. The two actors will be joined by Academy award-winning Octavia Spencer (The Shape Of Water, Hidden Figures), from an original script by Faxon and Nash. THE HEART tells the story of Joe (Rockwell) and Lucy (Spencer) who, while desperate for cash, take the job of delivering a human heart from New York to Florida in 24 hours. Western Drama, WOMAN WALKS AHEAD, Goes To A24 And DIRECTV For 2018 Release
A24 and DIRECTV have acquired U.S. rights to the western drama, Woman Walks Ahead. The film made a strong showing for its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival hailing from Our Kind Of Traitor helmer Susanna White. Jessica Chastain (upcoming Painkiller Jane) leads the film from a script by Stephen Knight (Locke, Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) which takes its cues from true events. Catherine Weldon (Chastain) is a widowed artist from New York in the 1880s, who travelled to North Dakota to paint a portrait of Chief Sitting Bull. After some initial tension, the two strike up an improbable but deeply committed friendship, joining forces to take on the U.S. government in a pivotal battle for Native American land rights.
