THE TRIP: Cast Announced As Jorma Taccone Sets Sail For English Language Remake Of 2021 Norwegian Thriller
Filming is underway in Tampere, Finland for Jorma Taccone’s (Pop Star: Never Stop Stopping, MacGruber, SNL) new thriller, The Trip. Actors Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, and Juliette Lewis are starring from a script by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, which re-envisions Tommy Wirkola’s Norwegian 2021 thriller of the same name. Here, Segel and Weaving play a dysfunctional couple who head to a remote cabin to “reconnect,” but each has secret intentions to kill the other. Rounding out the cast are Paul Guilfoyle, and UFC Octagon legend Keith Jardine. XYZ is financing and producing alongside 87North’s Kelly McCormick (The Fall Guy, Bullet Train, the Nobody franchise), Lee Kim (Dual, Get Away), and Guy Danella (Violent Night, Love Hurts). Bill Skarsgård is set to lead Boy Kills World from debut director Moritz Mohr. Arend Remmers (Sløborn) and Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie) penned the script which also brings actress Samara Weaving, and international action star Yayan Ruhian. Bill Skarsgard (Deadpool 2, It Chapter Two) will lead the cast as protagonist Boy, a deaf mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, he escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death. Production on The Batman lands its start date for January 2020 from Warner Bros. for a June 2021 deadline, and the trades are all confirming the finalized deal for the role of Catwoman for actress Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Divergent Series, Kin).
