Some of you may recall how impressed you were by the awesomeness presented in the trailer for franchise writer and director Syamsul Yusof‘s explosive, martial arts action-packed Fall gangster thriller, KL Gangster 2. Fanfare around the internet buzzed heavily around the film in the two years before the film’s theatrical release as moviegoers around the world who learned of the film’s existence hoped to learn more about further distribution of the film beyond its Malaysian borders. For those concerned, the film took the top spot on its opening weekend, ultimately beating Gravity and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2. Updates on official casting for The Expendables 3 have been a real headline generator, with actor and Sylvester Stallone heading off casting announcements via his twitter. Some of the most recent news about the film included the surprise announcement that actor Harrison Ford was now a part of the official cast, while Bruce Willis had been dropped altogether following his failed request for a $4 million dollar payday for a four-day shoot. Other announcements have already confirmed that Stallone’s Assassins co-star Antonio Banderas will be appearing in the cast, in addition to Machete Kills co-star Mel Gibson who will play the villain. Ronny Yu Declines On SILVER VASE, IRON KNIGHT

In a new article from Yahoo! Singapore about actor Ekin Cheng, it was reported that director Ronny Yu will not be helming the upcoming sequel to Ang Lee’s award-winning martial arts epic, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Back in January, Deadline reported that The Weinstein Company was confident it secured the rights to Chinese author Wang Du Lu’s 5-part “Crane-Iron” book series to produce Silver Vase, Iron Knight, with martial artist and screenwriter John Fusco providing the script. Although no other cast members have officially been annouced, international actress and action star Michelle Yeoh is set to reprise her role from Ang Lee’s film as swordwoman, Yu Shu Lien, with master martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping directing the action.
