3 CHAMBERS FEST Launches In October With Live-Music, THE CROW w/ Shaolin Jazz And More In October!

Residents and consumers of music and genre cinema delights will find themselves in good company come the arrival of the inaugural 3 Chambers Fest in Wilmington, North Carolina. Hosted by Speller Street Films, the festival will be home to a fusion of hip-hop, martial arts, and anime, featuring live music performances and immersive film and art experiences, and more. Per the announcement this Tuesday this week, 3 Chambers Fest commences on Friday, October 13, at Waterline Brewing Company with live performances by Solemn Brigham / Marlowe and Skyzoo live in concert. Advance tickets are now up for grabs at $10 with door prices at $20. ‘Black Kung Fu Cinema’ Knuckles Up For Blaxploitation Screenings In Durham This Spring

This Spring, down south will be the place to be as Speller Street Films, in association with The Pinhook and Mo’ Better Soul, sets up shop in Durham, North Carolina, as its next stop for traveling Blaxploitation cinema exhibition and screening series, “Black Kung Fu Cinema”. April 23 will see the premiere of Lu Chun-Ku’s 1975 thriller, The Black Dragon’s Revenge, starring Ron Van Clief, followed by Cirio H. Santiago’s 1974 femme fatale thriller, TNT Jackson on May 21. Both screenings will be accompanied by pre-recorded Q&A segments with the films’ lead stars, Ron Van Clief and Jean Bell, respectify, and will feature live music by D.J. Preach Jacobs, as well as a dance party for all those in physical attendance and obliging Covid safety guidelines. Virtual tickets are available as well for folks viewing the event from afar.
